Computational sciences, these days, require a lot of code being written by the researchers. Often, these codes have to be maintained and shared with fellow researchers for an optimal collaboration. The time tested strategy for such a collaboration in code development is version control. In this talk, I will talk about one such popular version control software - git. Using git, We will see how to keep track of changes in our codes though time. We will also see how to share and collaborate with others using services such as github and gitlab.
