Ingredients
1 small cauliflower or broccoli head or other vegetable of your own choice
250g dried macaroni or similar small pasta shapes
50g butter, plus extra for greasing
50g plain flour
500ml milk
150g mature cheddar
Method
1.Add your pasta to a pan of water, making sure the water covers the pasta and put on to the highest heat setting. Bring to the boil.
2. Prepare your vegetables and add to the pan once boiling, simmer for 8 minutes then drain.
3. Measure 50g margarine/butter and put into the saucepan
4.Carefully measure 2 rounded tablespoons of flour and add to the pan. Heat on a low heat until combined.
5. Add some of the milk and stir continuously until thicken, repeat until all the milk has gone.
6. Bring to the boil, stirring continuously
7.Take off the heat and stir in ¾ of the cheese.
8. Stir the pasta and vegetables into the sauce.
9. Add to dish and sprinkle over the rest of the cheese. Grill to cook cheese.
