Ingredients
500g strong bread flour
7g dried yeast
2 tbsp oil
1 tsp salt
320ml warm water
6 tbsp tomato sauce or puree
3 slices of ham
100g of mozzarella or cheddar
Basil or oregano
Egg to glaze
Method
1.Mix flour, yeast and salt in a bowl.
2. Make a well and add oil.
3. Mix in warm water, a bit at a time until a dough is formed (not too sticky, you may not need all of the water.)
4. Knead for 5-10 minutes until smooth.
5. Place back in an oiled bowl and cover the top with cling film. Place in a warm place to prove (on top of an oven that is on is ideal.)
6. When the dough has doubled in size (approx 30 mins) roll out to approx A3 paper size.
7. Spread tomato sauce over, leaving the edges clear.
8. Sprinkle cheese, ham and herbs as desired.
9. Fold in from the top edge, sealing edges (see below.)
10. Glaze, score and bake for 20/30 minutes at 180c / gas 5 until golden brown and hard to touch.
You can also sprinkle cheese or herbs on top and choose other pizza type fillings.
