Pizza Base:
Ingredients:
25g butter
150g SR flour
1 egg
50ml milk
Toppings – your choice! Some suggestions:
Approx 6 tbsp. tomato puree or pizza sauce
75g strong flavoured cheese or mozzarella
½ pepper
1 tbsp. olives
3-4 mushrooms
½ onion
2 cooked rashers bacon/slices ham
2 cooked sausages
Cooked chicken breast
50g salami/pepperoni
Method:
1. Preheat the oven to 200oC or gas mark 6. Line your baking tray.
2. Rub 25g butter into 150g flour until in resembles breadcrumbs.
3. Whisk the egg with 50ml milk and ad to breadcrumb mixture.
4. Flatten out on baking tray to form base.
5.. Add tomato sauce base and toppings, spacing evenly and not overloading otherwise it won't cook properly.
12. Place in the oven for 10-15 minutes, if you have a thicker base it will take slightly longer.
TOP TIP - try to cover all of your tomato base otherwise it will blacken in the oven.
