Parts of Speech

Noun (નામ) :- 

• Noun is a word used for a person, place or thing.

• વ્યક્તિ, વસ્તુ કે સ્થળના માટે વપરાતો શબ્દ એટલે નામ.

• Ex. Rajesh, Gyan, city, cat, mother, cotton, wisdom, army,etc.
  
  
  

Pronoun (સર્વનામ) :- 

• Pronoun is a word used instead of (in place of/in lieu of/to replace) a noun.

• નામને બદલે વપરાતો શબ્દ એટલે સર્વનામ. 

• Ex. he, she, their, mine, some, this, either, both, all, some, himself, etc
  
  
  

Verb (ક્રિયાપદ) :- 

• Verb is a word of action performed by any part of a living being. 

• કર્તા દ્વારા કરાયેલી ક્રિયાને વર્ણવતો શબ્દ એટલે ક્રિયાપદ. 

• Ex. write, read, run, sing, know, look, receive, provide, keep etc.
  
  
  

Auxiliary (સહાયકારક) :- 

• Auxiliary is a word that helps a verb. 

• મુખ્ય ક્રિયાપદના સહાયક તરીકે વપરાય તે સહાયકારક ક્રિયાપદ. 

• Ex. can, could, may, might, shall, will, would, should, must, ought to, do, does, did, have, had, is, am, are, was, were, having, need, dare, let, used to, going to, be, been, being etc.
  
  
  

Adjective (વિશેષણ) :- 

• Adjective is a word that adds something in the meaning of a noun.  

• નામના અર્થમાં વધારો કરતો શબ્દ એટલે વિશેષણ.  

• Ex. poor, intelligent, fast, clever, round, nice, beautiful, this, that etc.
  
  
  

Adverb (ક્રિયાવિશેષણ) :- 

• Adverb is a word that adds something in the meaning of a verb/an adjective or an adverb. 

• ક્રિયાપદ / વિશેષણ કે ક્રિયાવિશેષણના અર્થમાં વધારો કરતો શબ્દ એટલે ક્રિયાવિશેષણ. 

• Ex. slowly, differently, cleverly, very, fast, really etc.
  
  
  

Preposition (નામયોગી અવ્યય) :- 

• Preposition is a word that shows the connection between the two words. 

• બે શબ્દો (નામ/સર્વનામ) વચ્ચેનો સંબંધ દર્શાવતો શબ્દ એટલે નામયોગી અવ્યય. 

• Ex. on, in, among, under, into, before, after, while, till, until, above, over etc.
  
  
  

Conjunction (સંયોજક) :- 

• Conjunction is a word that joints (connects) words, phrases clause or sentences.

• શબ્દો, શબ્દસમૂહો, કે વાક્યોને જોડતો શબ્દ એટલે સંયોજક.  

• Ex. but, therefore, because, before, unless, and, if, until, after, etc.
  
  
  

Article (આર્ટિકલ-ઉપપદ) :- 

• Article is a word used to denote a single number, a small or large number of any common nouns.  

• એકવચન કે બહુવચનના જાતિવાચક નામને નક્કી કરવા માટે / દર્શાવવા માટે આર્ટિકલ (ઉપપદ) વપરાય છે.  

• Ex. a, an, the
  
  
  

Interjection (કેવળપ્રયોગી) :- 

• Interjection is a symbol that shows a sudden feeling such as joy, surprise or shock.  

• આનંદ, આશ્ચર્ય કે દુ:ખ જેવી આકસ્મિક લાગણીને દર્શાવતો શબ્દ એટલે કેવળપ્રયોગી.

• Ex. Oh, Alas, What, How, Hurrah, Hurray, Wow, Bravo etc.
