The Departments branch encompasses Department Coordinators who act as a liaison among Health Scholars, hospital staff, and Leadership Team. As coordinators, we generate schedules and manage shift changes and emails. We also track the hours and attendance progress, perform weekly floor checks, and conduct department-specific trainings each rotation. Coordinators work closely with the Administration branch to verify shift attendance and ensure correct hours entry.
Recruitment Coordinators are heavily involved in researching the backgrounds of local colleges and universities and presenting our program to students and other potential applicants to our program. They are also responsible for training all Leadership Team members on how to conduct the orientation / interview sessions for Health Scholar applicants.
Projects involves coordinating many of the exciting programs within the Health Scholar Program which active students have the opportunity to participate in. Project coordinators take direct roles in coordinating projects and acting as liaisons between the hospital staff and the interns who participate. Our Projects coordinators also organize and coordinate many of the special events which our Program associates with such as Wayfinding (lobby), PXA, as well as any events MultiCare invites us to.
Training Coordinators are primarily involved in conducting and coordinating 30 hour trainings we hold for incoming Health Scholars. They are responsible for ensuring all preparations have been made for the training as well as confirming all Leadership Team members have been trained and are prepared to carry out the respective aspects of Training.
