About: The Oncology unit is located on the 11th floor of Multicare Deaconess Hospital in the patient care tower. 11th Tower is an inpatient nursing care unit that serves the needs of the surgical/oncology patient population where care is provided on a 24/7 basis. All rooms contain a wall suction, oxygen, a patient call system, emergency outlets, and a Code Blue button. Many of the patients on this unit are neutropenic and require chemotherapy contact precautions.

About: The Medical/Surgical Units are located on the North end of the 1st Floor and the 3rd floor of the south patient tower at MultiCare Valley Hospital. These units are comprised of 30 beds, 10 private and 20 semi-private. The most common medical diagnoses served on the medical unit include COPD, CHF, Pneumonia, chest pain, diabetes, weakness, abdominal pains, sepsis, and supportive care. You will work alongside nurses and aides to provide the best patient care possible. This floor will truly get you accustomed to the rigors of working in a hospital and allow you to gain career experience as well as medical experience. You will gain experience from the nurses and aides that you would not be able to get in a class.
