Robert was in the first Cohort at MultiCare Hospitals in Spokane in 2018! He joined our Leadership Team as a Recruitment Coordinator. Robert attended and graduated from Gonzaga University with a Bachelors of Science in biochemistry. He currently works as a personal trainer. Robert graduated from the COPE program in 2019D.
Connor joined the program in January of 2019 and then our Leadership Team in October of 2019 as a Department Coordinator. He played an essential role in helping set up the Patient Experience Ambassadors Department that now all our current Health Scholars participate in. He attended and graduated from Gonzaga University. Connor graduated the COPE program during the summer of 2020.
Mason joined the program during our 2019A rotation. He joined the Leadership Team in February of 2020 as a Department Coordinator. He attended and graduated from Gonzaga University with a BS in Biology. Mason graduated from the COPE program in the summer of 2020, during the 2020B rotation.
Jordan was in the first Cohort at MultiCare Hospitals in Spokane in 2018! She attended and graduated from Eastern Washington University. Jordan graduated from the COPE program in 2020A.
Cathy was in the first Cohort at MultiCare Hospitals in Spokane in 2018! She graduated from the COPE program in 2020A.
Brittany enrolled in the COPE program in June of 2019. She joined the leadership team in July of 2020 as a Recruitment Coordinator. In the spring of 2021, she graduated from Eastern Washington University with a Bachelors of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. In the future, Brittany wants to have a career in pediatrics. She graduated from the COPE program in winter of 2020.
Jessica joined the program as part of the first Health Scholar cohort in Spokane, 2018D. In March of 2019, she joined the leadership team as Department Coordinator. Jessica graduated from Gonzaga University in the Spring of 2021 with a Bachelor's of Science in Biology and a Research Concentration with minors in Chemistry and Philosophy. She graduated from the COPE program in spring of 2021.
Nicole participated in Leaders as an Administrative Coordinator. She attended and graduated from Eastern Washington University earning her BA in criminology, BS in Biology, and her Masters in Biology. She currently works as an autopsy assistant in Spokane. Nicole graduated from the COPE program in the Spring of 2021.
Samartha joined the Health Scholar program as part of the 2019A cohort. In the summer of 2019, he joined the leadership team as a Department Coordinator of medical/surgical. In October of 2020 he became our sites first Executive Leadership Team Member as Assistant Director of Departments. Samartha graduated from Whitworth University in 2020 with a Bachelors of Science in Biology with a minor in Psychology. He was recently accepted to medical school at the University of Washington for Fall 2021. He graduated from the COPE program in the summer of 2021.
Jasleen joined the program as a part of the 2019A cohort. In January of 2020, she joined the leadership team as our Training Coordinator. Jasleen recently graduated in 2020 from Eastern Washington University with a Bachelors of Science in Chemistry with a minor in Biology. She graduated from the COPE program during the Fall of 2021.
Walker joined the program as part of the 2019D cohort. In the Spring of 2020, he joined the leadership team as Department Coordinator of medical/surgical. He later became an Enrollment Coordinator and focused his attention to running interviews! Walker attends Whitworth University, majoring in Biology. He applied to medical school during the summer of 2021. Walker graduated from the COPE program during the Winter of 2021.
Jackie joined the COPE Health Scholar Program as part of the 2020B cohort as a 9-month scholar, then joined the leadership team in May 2021 as an Recruitment Coordinator. She graduated from Eastern Washington University with a Bachelor's of Science in Biology with an associated minor in Biochemistry as well as a Bachelor’s of Art in Cultural Anthropology. She is currently working on Medical School applications and plans to apply in 2022 in order to achieve her goal of becoming a Emergency Department Physician. Jackie graduated from the COPE program during the Winter of 2021.
Faith joined the program as a part of the 2020A cohort as a 15 month scholar. She joined the leadership team in the fall of 2020 as a Recruitment Coordinator. Faith currently attends Gonzaga University majoring in Biochemistry and minoring in Applied Math. She is hoping to pursue a career as a physician in Neurology or Emergency Medicine. Faith graduated from the COPE program during the Spring of 2022
Alex joined the programs as part of the 2020A cohort. In the Fall of 2020, he joined the leadership team as the Department Coordinator of the medical/surgical floor at Valley Hospital. Alex currently attends Gonzaga University, majoring in Biochemistry. In the future, he would like to pursue a career in sports medicine. Alex graduated from the COPE program in the Spring of 2022.
Vitaliy enrolled in the COPE Health Scholar Program as part of the 2020B cohort as a 3-month scholar. He joined the leadership team in October of 2020 as a Department Coordinator. He graduated from Whitworth University in 2020 with a Bachelor's of Science in Biology and applied to Medical Schools in 2021. Vitaliy graduated from the COPE program in the Spring of 2022.
Roy joined the COPE program as part of the 2019D cohort. In the summer of 2021, he joined the leadership team as a Department Coordinator of Patient Experience at the Valley Hospital. Roy graduated from Whitworth University in Spring of 2021 with a Bachelors of Science in Biology. He is currently applying to medical school and hopes to serve his community in Hawaii as a physician. Roy graduated the program in the Spring of 2022.
Kate jointed the COPE program as part of the 2019D cohort. In the Spring of 2020, she joined the leadership team as the Recruitment Coordinator. A year later, in March of 2021, she became the Assistant Director of Recruitment and was recently promoted to Director of Recruitment for the COPE Program with MultiCare in October 2021.
Kate is currently a senior at Gonzaga University, where she will complete her bachelor’s degree in Human Physiology on a pre-medical track with a minor in Criminology. She is currently preparing for her MCAT and after graduation, she plans to attend medical school. Kate's goal is to have a career as a Forensic Pathologist.
Fun Fact: She is a USA certified dive coach who helps coach kid's diving in Spokane.

Katherine joined the program as part of the 2019D cohort. In the Spring of 2021, she joined the leadership team as a Recruitment Coordinator. Katherine is currently a senior at Gonzaga University, majoring in Psychology on a pre-nursing track. After graduation, she hopes to attend a graduate nursing program and get her Masters. One day she plans to become a Pediatric Psych Nurse Practitioner.
Fun fact: Katherine has been a part of the Gonzaga cheer team for two years and started dance when she was 11.

Cassidy joined the COPE program as part of the 2020A cohort. She joined our leadership team as a Department Coordinator for Medical Surgical during the 2021B cohort in June. Cassidy is a senior at Gonzaga University majoring in Biochemistry and minoring in Leadership studies. Her future career goal is to attend medical school.

Matthew joined the program as part of the 2019D cohort. In the Spring of 2020, he joined the leadership team as an administrative coordinator. Matthew currently attends Gonzaga University, Majoring in Biology with a minor in Psychology. After Graduation, he plans to attend medical school and work in military medicine.
Fun Fact: He is extremely interested in foreign languages and is currently teaching himself Swedish.
Jace enrolled in the COPE Health Scholar Program as part of the 2020B cohort as a 3-month scholar. He joined the leadership team in September 2020 as an Enrollment Coordinator. He graduated from Eastern Washington University with a Bachelor's in Biology in June 2021.
Fun Fact: He lived in Brazil for 2 years.
Nadina Mrkaljevic joined COPE Health Solutions in January of 2017, exploring her passion for patient care within the majority of departments offered at Swedish Medical Center in Seattle. Two years later, Nadina joined Leadership Team, becoming the Labor and Delivery Department Coordinator at Swedish Medical Center. Nadina valued overseeing the training and day to day shifting of the Health Scholars who reliably and unwaveringly brought joy and assistance to the staff and patients of the Labor and Delivery department.
Nadina graduated from the University of Washington in the spring of 2020, now ambitiously applying to Medical Schools across the country. Nadina has since transitioned to the Deaconess MultiCare Spokane site, where she excitedly plans to bring her knowledge and experience from Labor and Delivery at Swedish Seattle to the Mother-Baby unit at Deaconess MultiCare.

Sydney joined the program in March of 2021. In November 2021 she joined the leadership team as the Department Coordinator for our Oncology unit. She is currently a senior at Eastern Washington University, majoring in Biology and minoring in Psychology. After receiving her undergraduate degree she hopes to attend medical school and have a career as an emergency physician in the ER.
Fun Fact: Sydney likes to be outside and enjoys activities like hiking and kayaking.

Ian joined the Health Scholar Program as part of the 2019D cohort. In July of 2020, after some friendly-pressure from fellow members Matt and Kate, he joined the leadership team beginning as the Department Coordinator for 7th Tower/ACU, later serving as the Department Coordinator for 9th Tower/Neuro-Spine, and now serves as Department Coordinator for 2nd Tower/ ICU and co-Department Coordinator alongside Nadina for the Mother-Baby Unit at Multicare Deaconess Hospital. Ian is completing his undergrads at Gonzaga University where he is currently a junior majoring in Biology and minoring in Psychology. He is beginning the process of preparing for the MCAT so that he is one step closer to achieving his aspirations of becoming a pediatrician.

Cole Goodheart joined COPE Health Solutions in February 2020 as part of the 2020A cohort. Cole originally joined the leadership team as a Training Coordinator, supporting the COPE Health Scholar program at MultiCare Deaconess and Valley hospitals in Spokane, Washington. During the 2021A rotation, Cole became the Department Coordinator for Neuro/Spine at Deaconess hospital.
Cole Goodheart is completing his undergraduate education at Gonzaga University where he is receiving his bachelor’s degree in Human Physiology and a double minor in Jazz Performance on the Tenor Saxophone and in Psychology. Cole is a people first, helpful, service-oriented human who enjoys working with people and being a part of a team, especially within the Multicare Health Scholar/Leadership Program he currently resides in.
Fun Facts: Cole listens to 7-8 hours of music a day, has been to 11 countries (not counting Mexico and Canada), and will eat any food (he means "any") except for raw tomatoes, which excludes tomato products.

Jessica joined the Health Scholar Program as a part of the 2019D cohort. In the spring of 2021 she joined the leadership team as a recruitment coordinator. Jessica recently graduated from Gonzaga University. She earned a major in human physiology and a minor in art.

Katherine joined the program as part of the Spokane 2021B cohort. In July 2021 she joined the leadership team as an Administrative Coordinator. She just graduated at Carroll College in Montana, majoring in Biochemistry and minoring in Spanish. Her next steps are to attend medical school.

Abrar joined the program as part of the 2020D cohort. In the Spring of 2022, she joined the leadership team as a Department Coordinator for 9th Tower/Neuro-Spine. Abrar completed her Master's Degree at Keck Graduate Institute investigating a potential treatment for Alzheimer’s disease using a mouse model. Research has opened her eyes to many possibilities on how we can improve and personalize healthcare for many. So she decided to expand her research experiences by completing her
Ph.D. at Keck Graduate Institute in May 2021 in Point of Care Infectious Disease Diagnosis. Abrar is Currently working full-time as a Research Scientist at Washington State University Elson S. Floyd School of Medicine, and planning on applying to medical school near future. Abrar hopes that one day she can use her research background to conduct clinical experiments on her patients to provide them with the most suitable medical care by critically evaluating medical research and investigating new treatments that best suit each patient.
Fun fact: Abrar moved to the US at age 18 and didn’t speak any English, but she believed in herself and that nothing is impossible and never too late. Also, she loves the outdoors and she uses nature to destress during her hikes and camping.

Ellen joined the COPE program during the 2021C rotation. In January of 2022 she joined the leadership team as a Department Coordinator. She currently attends Gonzaga University, majoring in Human Physiology with a minor in Leadership Studies. After receiving her undergraduate degree she hopes to attend PA school on a military scholarship!

Mitchell enrolled in the COPE Health Scholar Program as part of the 2020B cohort as a 3-month scholar. He joined the leadership team in October as a Department Coordinator. He graduated from Eastern Washington University with a Bachelor's of Science in Biology and a minor in Biochemistry. In the future, Mitchell wants to have a career in pediatrics.

Kennedie joined the program in June of 2022 and joined the leadership team in February 2023 and graduated in December of 2023. She graduated from Spokane Valley Tech High School in June of 2023. She has plans to do everything she can in the medical field without going to medical school. She has her phlebotomist license and will have her MA certification in June of 2023, her next goal is Ultrasound technician and eventually a nurse working with newborns.
Fun Fact: On her free weekends she enjoys hanging out at Race Tracks around the Pacific Northwest she is also the first Junior Health Scholar to join leaders!
Taylor joined the health scholar program as part of the 2021D cohort. In January of 2022 she joined the leadership team as the department coordinator of the Medical Surgical Unit at Valley Hospital and has recently taken on a new role. She grew up in the Spokane community and graduated from East Valley High School. Taylor is currently attending Whitworth University and majoring in Biochemistry. After graduating from Whitworth, she hopes to attend medical school to pursue Gastroenterology.
Fun Fact: Taylor loves to hike and be outdoors whenever the sun is out!
Livia joined the program in January of 2023 as part of our 2023A cohort. She then joined the leadership team in September of 2023 as our Social Media Coordinator! Livia graduated from Lewis and Clark in June of 2024 and plans on studying a medical-related field.
Ha joined the program as a Junior Health Scholar in February of 2023 and recently joined the leaders team in July of 2023. She is an international student from Vietnam and a rising senior at Spokane Community College perusing a High School Diploma and Associates Degree in Biology at the same time. Ha is on her way to apply to colleges and finds her self wanting to be a general surgeon. And she is hoping to be accepted into a BS/MD program.
Ashley joined the Health Scholars program in January 2021. She is currently a student at Gonzaga University majoring in Human Physiology and minoring in Philosophy. After graduating, she hopes to attend medical school to pursue a surgical career.
Kendall Joined the Health Scholar program in April 2020 and joined the leadership team as a department coordinator in March 2023. She graduated from Eastern Washington University with a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and a minor in biochemistry. She hopes to attend medical school and pursue a career in cardiology or surgery.

Jenna joined COPE in February of 2022 and joined leaders in January of 2023. They started off in leaders as a Department Coordinator for the Juniors and then later became the Assistant Director of Departments for the Valley. She finished her career at COPE Health Scholar as the Director of Departments.
She grew up in Moses Lake, Washington. They WSU nursing school. She eventually wants to be a nurse practitioner and work in critical care.
Fun Fact: Jenna likes to play racquet sports like tennis and pickleball
Raleigh joined the Health Scholar program in October of 2022. She is currently a student at Gonzaga University majoring in Biology with a minor in Chemistry and Spanish. After graduating she hopes to attend medical school and pursue a career in orthopedic surgery. She ended her COPE career as the Department Coordinator for the Advanced Coronary Unit.
Fun fact: Raleigh loves to figure skate and she is currently teaching Learn to Skate classes at the local rink.
Samantha joined the leadership team in April 2024. Samantha is a biology major to pursue a career as a Cardiothoracic surgeon. Sam finished her COPE career as a Training Coordinator.
Fun fact: Samantha loves to work out and jam to music.
Ananya joined the program in September of 2023 and joined the leadership team in February of 2024. She currently attends Ferris High School, and will graduate in June of 2025. She hopes to pursue a career in the medical field, either as general physician or, more ambitiously, a dermatologist.
Fun Fact: Ananya has done ballet and other forms of dance for 12 years, 5 of those pre-professionally, and loves playing the flute with the Ferris Wind Ensemble and for herself.
Dani joined the program in November of 2022 and joined the leadership team in May of 2023. She currently attends Ridgeline High School and Spokane Falls Community College. She will graduate Ridgeline in June 2025. She plans on majoring in psychology and hopefully working for the U.S. Navy.
Fun Fact: She has previously run 2 half marathons and plans on running many more, maybe even a marathon.
Jillian joined the program in February of 2023 and then joined leaders in June. She grew up in Federal Way, Washington. She attends Whitworth University in Spokane, Washington, and is majoring in Biology. She hopes to attend medical school or PA school after her undergraduate degree and is interested in orthopedics and sports medicine.
Fun Fact: Jillian has been powerlifting competitively with the USAPL since she was thirteen and has placed at Nationals three times.
Owen joined the program in September of 2023 and joined the leadership team in June of 2024. Owen will be graduating from Ridgeline in June 2025. Owen plans on pursuing a career in anesthesiology.

Myann joined the program in December of 2023 and joined the leadership team in June of 2024. Myann is graduating from Ferris in June of 2025. Myann plans on attending medical school through the army after finishing undergrad to become a doctor.

Marco Joined the program in September of 2023 and joined the leadership team in June of 2024. Marco will graduate from Ridgeline in June of 2025 and plans on becoming a business major. Marco wishes to pursue a career as a doctor.

Emily joined the program in February of 2024 and joined the leadership team in June of 2024. Emily will graduate from Mt. Spokane in June of 2025 and plans to study Microbiology in college. Emily wants to pursue a career in Chemical or Medical Microbiology Pathology, or Dermatology.
Fun Fact: Emily accidentally gave herself a permanent tattoo in the 5th grade
