Kylei Harrison joined COPE Health Solutions in June 2019. As a Manager, she supports with the COPE Health Scholar and Junior Health Scholar programs at MultiCare Deaconess and Valley hospitals in Spokane, Washington. Ms. Harrison’s role focuses on the development and expansion of the COPE Health Scholar programs in Eastern Washington. Ms. Harrison is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations, maintaining and meeting consistent recruitment goals, providing professional development and mentorship to her program participants, demonstrating operational leadership, and developing processes for program operations.
Prior to joining COPE Health Solutions, Ms. Harrison participated in the COPE Health Scholars program at MultiCare Deaconess and Valley Hospital as a member of one of the first student cohorts. During her time as a Health Scholar, Ms. Harrison was frequently recognized for her exceptional dedication and attentiveness to the patients and staff needs. Ms. Harrison quickly transitioned to a Health Scholar Assistant, where she facilitated workforce development training and Scholar engagement for all program participants.
Ms. Harrison has completed her undergraduate education at Eastern Washington University where she has received her bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a minor in Communication Studies. Ms. Harrison is passionate about working with students of all ages and learning abilities. She strives to provide opportunities and guidance for youth to develop in professional and academic areas.
Matt Schaack will be overseeing the COPE Health Scholars program at MultiCare Deaconess and Valley Hospitals. He brings experience from his previous role as a Clinic Administrator for a local FQHC in Spokane, WA. He was directly involved with and oversaw recruitment for the Nurse Practitioner Residency Program that was offered through his clinic, as well as working with preceptors to develop and implement plans for smooth operations and growth opportunities throughout the Residency Program. In this role, Matthew also worked closely with providers and care team members on daily operations, gaining experience and knowledge in Family Practice, OBGYN and Women’s Health, Behavioral Health, and Pediatrics.
Matthew obtained his undergraduate degree in Exercise Science from Lewis-Clark State College in Lewiston, ID. This ultimately led him to earn his MBA, with an emphasis in Healthcare Administration, from Idaho State University. Matthew is passionate about helping students and colleagues grow and meet new goals and opportunities that best support his community.
FUN FACT: Matt loves to help and run three high level car shows in California in his free time.

Molly joined the program as part of the 2021A cohort. In May 2021 she joined the leadership team as a Training Coordinator. She is currently a Senior at Eastern Washington University, majoring in Biology and minoring in Psychology and Chemistry. In the future she plans on applying to medical school and is very interested in the fields of OB/GYN and Psychiatry.
Fun Fact: She has a twin sister.
Marissa joined the Junior Health Scholar program in October 2021 and transitioned into the Health Scholar program in October 2022. She has recently graduated from Whitworth University with a degree in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. She is currently getting ready to apply for the 2026 medical school application cycle.
Fun Fact: She has a love for dogs and outdoor activities such as skiing, climbing, running, and hiking!
Justin joined the program in March of 2022 and joined the leadership team in June of 2023. He is currently a student at Eastern Washington University majoring in Biology with a minor in chemistry. After graduating, he hopes to attend medical school to pursue a career in gastroenterology.
Fun Fact: He has a black belt in karate, and he enjoys weightlifting. Pilates instructor!!!!
Abby joined the program in October of 2024 and joined the leadership team in January of 2025. She graduated from Whitworth University with a degree in Biology. She is getting ready to apply for the 2026 medical school application cycle and wants to pursue a career in cardiology.
Fun Fact: She is currently working as a MA and enjoys teaching, volunteering, and skiing!
Lexi joined the COPE program in June of 2024 and joined the leadership team in November 2024 as the DC for ACU. She is a Biology major at EWU and is graduating in Spring of 2025. Lexi is aiming for a Doctor of Osteopathic School.
Fun Fact: Lexi loves to paint and often incorporate her art into her studies.
Hunter joined the program in March of 2023, and joined leaders in May 2025. He grew up in Post Falls, Idaho. He is a Biochemistry major at Whitworth University. He aims to attend medical school after his undergraduate degree, and is interested in orthopedics.
Fun Fact: Hunter is also a phlebotomist at Kootenai Hospital.

Brandee joined the program in February of 2024 as a Junior Health Scholar and later joined the leadership team in October of 2024. Brandee attended Mt. Spokane High School and will graduate in June of 2025 and she plans to continue her studies at EWU as a Chemistry major. Brandee is working towards a career in ophthalmology.
Fun Fact: Brandee has known her career goal since she was in the 6th Grade.

Hazel joined the program in November of 2022 and joined the leadership team in June of 2024. Hazel currently attends Whitworth University and is majoring in Chemistry. She is currently working towards applying to medical school.
Owen joined the program in September of 2023 and joined the leadership team in June of 2024. Owen will be graduating from Ridgeline in June 2025. Owen plans on pursuing a career in anesthesiology.

Karenna joined the program in June 2023 as part of our 2023B cohort. She recently joined Leaders in September of 2023 as an enrollment coordinator. Karenna currently attends NYU, preparing to apply to medical schools in the next couple of years!
Tommy joined the program as a Health Scholar in May of 2024 and then joined the leadership team in September of 2024. Tommy attends the University of Chicago as a Biology major and will graduate in 2028. He plans to pursue Medical School or a PhD after undergraduate.
Fun Fact: Tommy was a three-sport athlete in Highschool
Kaydee joined the program in February of 2024 and joined the leadership team in August of 2024. Kaydee will graduate from Mt. Spokane High School in June of 2025. Kaydee is career goal is becoming an occupational therapist.

Sukhman joined the program in 2022 as part of our 2022B cohort. He recently joined Leaders in October of 2023 as a Projects Coordinator! He currently attends EWU. He plans on studying medicine and becoming a physician.
Myann joined the program in December of 2023 and joined the leadership team in June of 2024. Myann is graduating from Ferris in June of 2025. Myann plans on attending medical school through the army after finishing undergrad to become a doctor.

Andrew joined the program in September 2024 and the leadership team in March 2025. He will graduate from Whitworth in May 2026 and plans to continue his job as an EMT. Andrew wishes to pursue a career as a physician's assistant.
Fun Fact: Andrew is a dual citizen of the United States and Canada, and grew up there!
Emily joined the program in February of 2024 and joined the leadership team in June of 2024. Emily will graduate from Mt. Spokane in June of 2025 and plans to study Microbiology in college. Emily wants to pursue a career in Chemical or Medical Microbiology Pathology, or Dermatology.
