12 Days of Techmas
Day 5
360Schools
On the fifth day of Techmas, Ms. D is taking us on a Virtual Field Trip using 360° images.
Ever wanted to take your students on a Field Trip and the location was too far away? Or you wanted to visit cities to give students a better picture of the setting of a book, an event in history, etc.? Then this tool is for you!
https://www.360cities.net/
https://schools.360cities.net/
I am excited to share this tool with you! I LOVE creating virtual field trips with classes and this is a GAME CHANGER!!!
Imagine being able to share with students the places you are studying in a way that they can take a deeper look to help them understand the setting of a story or explore locations to see the biomes they are studying in science in a 360° view.
You can take students on a Virtual Field Trip to places around the world. There are so many cool features on this page. When you visit their website, be sure to visit the "For Teachers" section at the bottom and sign up for 360Schools. This will allow you to not only use these 360° panoramas in your lessons but create your own guided tours.
Activity IDEA: Brain Break/Brainstorm Activity - Have QR Codes with different locations students can visit. They could have a writing prompt about what they see or to list as many things they notice or what they can determine about the location based on what they view in the 360°. What if each week they get a new location to work on observation skills, notetaking, and deductive reasoning?
360° Panoramas - Browse thousands of images
World Map - Zoom In to see all the locations with 360° Panoramas
Curated Sets - These are sets already created for locations
360schools is a unique immersive 360° / VR education service for teachers and their students. Sign up for FREE!

Share 360° panoramas with students through URLs, QR Code or through Google Classroom (URLs can be shared in Canvas as well)
Embed 360° panoramas - these can be placed on your blog, website, or in your LMS for educational activities
Create your own Guided Tours - use 360° panoramas from their page or use your own to create Guided Tours. They have instructions to make it easy to create. You can even add targets that link out to videos and information.

Each day there will be a task to complete based on the tool for that day. Complete the Form below and share your completed task. At the end of the 12 Days of Techmas you will receive a certificate for the days you participated in. You have the chance to earn up to 3 hours of Technology credit.
Visit https://www.360cities.net/ and click "for teachers" and create a Teacher account.
While in the 360Schools account, search for a panorama that you could use for a lesson, an advisory activity, a writing activity, or just think is pretty darn cool, etc.
Click the share button (upper right corner), save the QR Code for the panorama that you found, and submit that to the CEU form.
Be sure to share ideas of how this could be used or lesson ideas on the CEU Form.
