In order to be listed on FairPrice Marketplace, SKUs must adhere to the requirements of various Singapore Government Organizations and FairPrice Product Compliance Guidelines.

FairPrice Marketplace has provided a non-exhaustive list of prohibited and restricted items here.
For the following dietary claims, it is Mandatory to submit your certifications via this form:
Governed by: Singapore Food Agency (SFA)
Singapore Food Agency (SFA) may request for valid organic certifications as and when required
Sellers must ensure:
- Certificates issued by recognised Authority e.g. NASAA Certified organic
- Product Name must match the Organic Certification
“Parmigiano Reggiano” Compliance
Governed by: Singapore High Court Judgement
In order to use the word “Parmesan” or “Parmigiano Reggiano” anywhere in the product, the product must originate from Italy, Emilia-Romagna Region (provinces of Parma, Reggio Emilia, Modena, Bologna, and Mantua)
Affects: All Cheese and Cheese-related Products
Sellers must ensure:
- Cheese products that do not originate from the designated geographical area in Italy cannot use the term "Parmesan" on their packaging name or list the product on our platform with the name "Parmesan". We kindly request that sellers who do not meet this requirement amend their packaging name to exclude the word "Parmesan".
- Sellers whose cheese products have the word "parmesan" and originate from the designated regions in Italy must provide us with supporting documents to verify their product's origin. Failure to comply with these regulations may result in the delisting of affected cheese SKUs on our platform.
Governed by: Immigrations & Checkpoint Authority (ICA) and the various regulatory authorities
Prohibited item are not allowed to be listed or sold by Singapore law. Restricted items require approval or license to sell locally.
Examples of Prohibited items (non-exhaustive, source of list TBC with legal) are:
Concealed Weapon, Cigarette lighters in shape of Pistols/Revolvers;
Endangered species of wildlife and their by-products;
Controlled drugs - Illegal (Misuse of Drugs Act)
Plants and their derivatives that contain controlled drugs and are thus illegal under Singapore’s Misuse of Drugs Act Hemp Proteins, Seeds, Oils etc are produced from substances derived from the Cannabis Sativa plant.
Common products that may contain controlled drugs:
a. Oils e.g. Hemp Seed Oil
b. Beverages e.g. Smoked Hemp Gin

Partially Hydrogenated Oil/Fat (PHO) banned in Singapore
Common products that may contain partially hydrogenated oil/fat are:
a. Snacks e.g. potato chips
b. Prepared meals e.g. pizza, instant noodles, frozen meals
c. Baked goods e.g. biscuits, cookies, bread
d. Fat spreads e.g. butter, margarine, chocolate spread
e. Processed food e.g. creamers, shortening

a. As a seller of health supplements, you must ensure your products adhere to safety and quality standards. E.g within maximum daily limit (IU)

b. "Important Notice of Breastfeeding" in Key Information
c. No Health Claims which state, suggest or imply that the infant formula has, or may have, a health effect
d. No idealisation of the use of infant formula
e. Labels and advertisements for infant formula do NOT contain nutrition claims
HCS (Healthier Choice Symbol) - Certification Submission is Mandatory via this form
Prohibited claims to suggest that a food has:
therapeutic or prophylactic action;
or that a food will prevent, alleviate or cure any disease or condition affecting the human body;
or that health or improve physical condition may be achieved by consuming the food;
or claims that may be interpreted as advice of a medical nature from any person are also prohibited.

SFA Regulation 12A requires any person who advertises or sells pre-packed food online must declare the following information on the sales listing of the pre-packed food in the form of a photograph of the product label or declared on the online sales platform. Information must be in English

For all air-conditioners, refrigerators, clothes dryers, televisions and lamps registered, imported and subsequently sold in Singapore, Energy Labels are mandatory to help consumers compare the energy efficiency and make more informed purchasing decisions.

The expiry date marking indicates the date which food should not be sold in Singapore. It may be labelled as "Use by", "Expiry date", "Best before" or "Sell by". It is illegal to sell food that have passed these dates. This is because these products may no longer be at a specific quality claimed by the food manufacturer.

Shadows must be removed for the product images.
Expiry dates must be removed from the product images
Images should not be distorted in order to display professional looking images to customers.
Images should not be pixelated as the text will be difficult to read by customers.
Hero images should not contain additional shoutouts/symbols/labels of official store logos or product brands or information.

Not For Sale Items e.g. samples, testers

To promote shark conservation, we restrict the listing of shark fins related products:

What do Beverage Sellers need to do in 2023:
Ensure that your new product listing via Seller Portal has the:
Nutri-Grade label on the Hero Image’s Product Packaging
Nutri-Grade information is in the “Key Information” Field: Nutri-Grade and Sugar Level
Nutrition Information Panel (NIP) as one of the Product Images in your Listing

Ensure that the Nutri-Grade Mark is available on the product page and adheres to the requirement for digital advertisements with effect from 30 Dec 2022.
Mandatory Nutrition Label and Nutrition Information Panel (NIP)
The mandatory nutrition label, called “Nutri-Grade”, has four colour-coded grades. Grade A, corresponding to the lowest sugar and saturated fat thresholds, is in green. Grade D, corresponding to the highest sugar and saturated fat thresholds, is in red. Please refer to the Usage Guide below, for the specific Pantones.
In addition to the grades, the sugar level of the beverage is shown clearly on the label in the form of percentage of total volume.
Nutri-Grade beverages graded "C" or "D" must be labelled with a Nutri-Grade mark on the front-of-pack of its package. Labelling of the Nutri-Grade mark is optional for Nutri-Grade beverages graded 'A" or "B", and companies can choose to label such products with the voluntary HCS and/or the Nutri-Grade mark.

Any beverages (including any powder or concentrate meant to be reconstituted or diluted with fluids before consumption as a beverage)
Pre-packed beverages
Beverages sold in vending machines
Beverages sold in automated beverage dispenser e.g. Fountain machine, coffee machine
Not Applicable to:
A beverage that contains more than 0.5% (v/v) alcohol at 20ºC;
A beverage that is prepared by hand at the place or premises where it is sold;
A beverage for which a prospective purchaser may customise the amount of any ingredient in the beverage;
Any special purpose food
for a special medical purpose and that is labelled as being for use under medical supervision;
supplied solely to hospitals, hospices and other residential care facilities like nursing homes for the purpose of providing services to patients in those facilities;
that is infant formula;
that is follow-up formula, that is, food intended for use as a liquid part of the weaning for an infant 6 months or older or young children;
that is formula food for use in a weight control diet, that is, formula food presented as a replacement for a person’s total daily diet;
that is diabetic food; or
for a person who requires a specific intake of sugar (including but not limited to sucrose) or saturated fat in the person’s diet as a result of a disease, disorder or other condition.

Breast milk is the best for your baby. The World Health Organisation recommends exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months of life. Unnecessary introduction of bottle feeding or other food and drinks will have a negative impact on breastfeeding. After six months of age, infants should receive age-appropriate foods while breastfeeding continues for up to two years of age or beyond. Consult your doctor before deciding to use infant formula or if you have difficulty breastfeeding.

3. Product descriptions of all in-scope products (i.e. Stage 1 and Stage 2 infant formula for 0-12 months) should contain the exact same information as the label, and that any other additional information provided is factual.
