Pentolach

Player Summary

Pentolach is the owner of the Lethantia Network, winner of the first season of Minecraft Tribes, and contestant on The Hot Seat. Throughout his experience in Minecraft Tribes, he was known for leading Team Night toward its success in the pre-merge, and becoming a strategic powerhouse in the latter part of the game in order to make it to the final 2 by convincing his allies to vote for the opposition, and by persuading the challenge threat Mc_Hectic to bring him to the finale and abandoning his season-long allegiance with pjanicelli. After his win, he became the full-time host of Minecraft Tribes since season 2. Although earning a measly 5th place in The Hot Seat, he still loved hosting the game after he was eliminated.

Minecraft Tribes I

Pentolach competed on the inaugural first season of Minecraft Tribes. Placed on Team Night by random draw after everyone else, he thought of the idea of becoming the de facto leader of the tribe, despite pjanicelli being the official leader. Although Team Night's morale was somewhat low from the start since the tribe draw ended them up in an undesirable tribe and had poor efforts to successfully raid much from the pirate port town, Pentolach tried to boost morale by motivating the tribe and building confidence as they started their survival experience, giving him an advantage as the most likable member on Team Night toward his tribemates. As a tribe, it was decided that they would start camp by sailing to a far away island. Once there, Pentolach quickly began the construction of a tribal hut and farm, which gave him the upper hand as he was viewed as a useful member of the tribe. After their first reward challenge loss, Pentolach promised pjanicelli a deal to vote out mcgoldenman12, who was little help to the tribe, if they lost the first immunity challenge, guaranteeing pjanicelli and Pentolach safety for the first round. However they unexpectedly won the first immunity challenge and didn't need to worry about voting anyone off and continued their survival experience.

On Day 2, Team Night won the following reward challenge due to Pentolach's boat maneuvering skills, which gained further respect among his fellow members. Being somewhat careless about his food rations, Pentolach and pjanicelli ate as much food from the farm without replenishing their stock, causing a shortage of food among the tribe. This continued until Day 4 when they finally were able to fix the hunger problem by foraging for livestock and breeding such animals rapidly in the farm. In addition, the items won from the reward challenge were used to the tribe's benefit in order to create a horse stable for an organized mode of travel and exploration.

Day 4's events turned very favorable for Team Night as their low morale from Day 1 changed into a very high morale level after their 3rd consecutive challenge win and second immunity challenge win. Before the challenge, Pentolach reassured pjanicelli that if they were to lose, they could simply vote off mcgoldenman12 and be safe after the ceremony, but that once again was unnecessary since the "underdog" tribe prevailed for another time. At the same time, Pentolach started to strategically bond and connect with the remaining members of Team Light, to prepare for a potential circumstance where he were ever to be at their mercy in the game, unbeknownst to pjanicelli, his closest ally.

Team Night was confident coming into the reward challenge on Day 5 because they were against the only member of Team Light, Mc_Hectic, however Pentolach warned the rest of the tribe not to get too confident, as Mc_Hectic was very skilled in challenges when on his own. As predicted, Team Light won their first challenge after 3 devastating losses, and Mc_Hectic won various potions which would later help him in future individual challenges. Once again, Team Light won the next immunity challenge, giving Team Night their first immunity loss. In order to prevent a possible tie in the votes when the merge twist was revealed where Team Light was able to cast a vote in Team Night's first elimination ceremony, Pentolach convinced Mc_Hectic to vote off mcgoldenman12, stating that he did not "deserve to make the merge due to his lack of contribution" and mcgoldenman12 was unanimously voted out of Team Night.

Once the merge began, Mc_Hectic proposed that the merged tribe, Team Celestial, should relocate to Team Light's old camp. Pentolach, not wanting to disagree to cause friction with anyone, strategically seconded the idea before pjanicelli could give his opinion. Knowing that Mc_Hectic would most likely dominate in individual challenges, Pentolach began to connect with Mc_Hectic in the tribe's survival experience in the case that through his future wins, he would be choosing either Pentolach, pjanicelli or CMan2717. When Mc_Hectic wanted to create a lava moat around the tribe's camp, Pentolach catered to this idea in order to bond with him. While pjanicelli was continuing his survival experience on his own, he started to alienate himself among the tribe. When the combined reward/immunity challenge resulted in Mc_Hectic's win, Pentolach quickly told Mc_Hectic that it would be a good idea for him to join the existing Team Night alliance on the upcoming elimination ceremony to vote out CMan2717 due to his inactivity. When Pentolach realized that Mc_Hectic already was contemplating this idea, the whole tribe was fed up with CMan2717's absence and promptly voted the inactive player out.

In addition to being a player, as the host of the game, on Day 7, Pentolach chose to sit out of the auction due to his knowledge of the items involved. Because Mc_Hectic bought most of the items auctioned, he gained many tools to advance his survival experience. Before the final immunity challenge, Pentolach made a deal with Mc_Hectic, predicting in advance Mc_Hectic's victory in this PvP-based challenge. Because the losers of the final immunity challenge would only be able to vote for each other, the winner of this final immunity would get the sole vote to eliminate someone of their choice. This way, Pentolach told Mc_Hectic that if he helped him win the final challenge, he would ask that Mc_Hectic would take him to the finals by voting pjanicelli out. By making this deal, he threw pjanicelli under the bus, and he thought that it might risk his victory if pjanicelli was aware about this deal when he were to vote for the winner, so in addition to the deal, Pentolach convinced Mc_Hectic that if pjanicelli were sitting against him at the finale, he'd lose the vote to him, but if he himself was in the finale against him, he would win for sure. By throwing the challenge, Pentolach also knew that not having the choice in voting anyone off would be an advantage to him because there would be no blood on his hands. In the end, Pentolach managed to achieve the desired result of his plan by Mc_Hectic voting pjanicelli off.

It was Pentolach's idea during the finale to cater towards the jury through the "Memory Lane" ceremony and jury questioning since he knew that Mc_Hectic was going to be aggressive with his plea to win, which would anger the jury. During "Memory Lane", he tried to give the dead contestants compliments, honoring the game they played in unique ways, while Mc_Hectic chose to give snarky criticism. In the end, the jury asked questions in the same way that the votes cast were reflected, with Pentolach being lauded and praised for his leadership and strategic gameplay, and Mc_Hectic being criticized for his condescending attitude toward his tribemates and overly cocky nature through the game. Pentolach won in a 3-1 jury vote, getting all the jurors' votes but losing out on one since he lost the challenge, giving Mc_Hectic a reward vote.

Pentolach's Voting History

^ - Pentolach was not eligible to vote as the only eligible player he could vote for was pjanicelli.

The Hot Seat

Pentolach was designated the color yellow to represent himself in the game. At the beginning of Round 1, Pentolach was the first one eliminated from the First Impressions Activity, although was regarded positively by the criteria listed. Additionally, he chose a bad hole for the first bonus challenge, getting immediately sent first to Exile Island. As a result of this, he missed out on the opportunity to start his survival experience at the same time as every other player, only being able to leave Exile Island after 15 minutes. He offered Charredfreak11 the proposition to align in the game, as no one else would suspect that they both would choose to work together in the game. With the knowledge of how the teams would be split up for the first Team Challenge, they agreed that Charredfreak11 would try to throw the challenge for his team to let the perceived weaker players have more points than the stronger players. He, along with CMan2717 and pjanicelli as part of Team White, was able to win the challenge and earn 5 points due to Charredfreak11's sabotaging of Team Black, which frustrated Sonato and _DiamondPierce_. Between challenges  he attempted to secure another allegiance with Sonato, but was unaware of his stronger loyalties to _DiamondPierce_ and CMan2717. At the first Individual Challenge, Pentolach secured a solid 3rd place finish, earning another 5 points. By this point he was in the top half of players in the point standings and therefore was ineligible to earn any more points in the catch up challenge exclusive to Round 1, but was able to prevent others from receiving them. Unfortunately for him though, _DiamondPierce_ managed to win the challenge and earned the 4 points at stake, knocking Pentolach down a rank. By the end of Round 1, Pentolach scored a total of 11 points (1 point was earned at the Results Ceremony due to a twist) and was safe at 3rd place and felt sympathy for pjanicelli as he became the first to jump into the Hot Seat.

Sitting out of the Hot Seat Auction due to hosting responsibilities once Round 2 had begun, he was unable to potentially receive the extra points given out as auction items. As CMan2717 and _DiamondPierce_ earned relatively large amounts of points since they were the ones to bid on the items, he knew that it would become a little more difficult to stay in the pack and not get left behind. Due to the random draw, Pentolach became the odd one out and wasn't able to participate in the next Team Challenge, and received a small consolation prize of 3 points, but still wished to compete for a larger 8 point reward. And later, the final nail in the coffin for Pentolach was when he and Charredfreak11 were targeted first in the Individual Challenge by all other players, including his supposed ally Sonato, and he placed a lousy 4th place, only earning 5 points while others earned greater amounts of points. As if doing poorly wasn't enough, he was sent to Exile Island once again, this time by the challenge winner, Sonato. Feeling betrayed, he whispered to Sonato and asked why he was thrown under the bus, but eventually understood that it was his strategy so respected the move. Knowing that his position in the game was on the line, he made one last plea to Charredfreak11 who had a Point Tote at this time, feeling like if he had to bring a fellow ally down in order to save his game, he would do so. Charredfreak11 knew that he wasn't doing so well in the rankings, and apologetically stated that there was too much at stake to do so. At 5th place, Pentolach was eliminated at the Results Ceremony and was sent above the Hot Seat, where he wished everyone luck and told people to play hard before dropping into the lava below.
