Keys for the identification of British Curculionidae (weevils)
A large family in the British fauna, well-covered by Morris in the Handbooks to the Identification of British Insects series.
The following keys may be used in conjunction with Morris's works. They are translated and adapted from German texts. Note that there are some gaps in my coverage - subfamilies Cossoninae and Scolytinae.
This is the access document. It keys out the other families of weevils as well as the Curculionidae and then takes the Curculionidae to subfamily. This document includes a detailed examination of the morphology, based on a dissection of Otiorhynchus sulcatus.
