Key for the identification of British Histeridae

The 2012 check list of British Histeridae (Duff, 2012) lists 52 species from 21 genera and 7 subfamilies. All these species can be identified using the key below although some might require dissection to confirm.  If you find errors in this key or find that there are points for improvement please let me know on mikesinsectkeysATgmail.com.  A further species has been recently found in the UK and this is included in the updated key below.  The latest update includes some clarifications of couplets from comparison with museum specimens. The second key is to identify Histeridae to subfamily on a worldwide basis.  There are two different keys and I find the second one easier to use.
