This document is a key to the families of British beetles. The keys are adapted from various sources and all of them require field testing. If you have any comments for improvements please let me know. Many are on their third or more edit after suggestions from entomologists.
If you want to know more about British beetles you need to buy a copy of Andrew Duff's texts, Beetles of Britain and Ireland, published in four volumes. His phenomenal work serves as a benchmark for British coleopterists for years to come.
Contact mikesinsectkeysATgmail.com to give feedback from your experience of the keys. What could be improved? Can you share illustrations/photographs that can be included? Have I missed some species or made mistakes with names?
