Lessons learned from each training:

Communication Training:

1. Taking the comm Training helped to learn the star method better

2. It taught me how to be s better listener with active listening techniques

3. 90% should be listening and 10% talking is a good rule of thumb to become a better listener

4. Tone contributes to how your message is perceived

5. There are techniques to become a better listener like avoid interruptions

6. Some leaders are born in the midst of adversity. (i.e I went through this, I had to learn leadership skills when I was the president /founded the Micro Air Vehicle club at ASU, I had to develop teams and understand their needs and wants

How I plan to incorporate leadership training into my professional work activities with others is by not telling other people what to do but inspire others to do what needs to be done, do my best job, believe in the cause to put more effort to accomplish the task over someone who was simply tasked to perform a job, inspire and motivate others, and lead by example.

Leadership Training:

1. Leadership is not telling people what to do. it is inspiring others to do what needs to be done

2. Abe Lincoln was a true leader, who ended slavery in the US

3. You can order people to perform a task, but you can't order them to do their best

4. A person who believes in the cause will put in more effort to accomplish the task over a person who is simply tasked to perform a job

5. A good leader should be able to inspire and motivate their follower

6. The best leaders lead by example (i.e George Washington rode into battle with his troops, in the movie 300 king Leo fought with his troops and lastly Michael Thompson participates in group activities with his club members)

How I plan to incorporate communication training into my professional work activities with others is by becoming a better listener, incorporate tone into my messages, avoid interruptions to let the other person finish their thought and use the Situation Task Action Result (STAR) methodology.

Conflict Resolution:

1. When two or more people come together there is bound to be conflict

2. Conflict can be healthy and competitive to figure out the solution

3. Write down both parties ideas and solution to mitigate conflict, then a solution will exist, if not then redo this process until a solution exists

4. Mutual understanding is a preferred method for conflict resolution

5. You can understand conflict better when you understand the wants and needs of the other person

How I plan to incorporate conflict resolution training into my professional work activities with others is by understanding that when people come together there is bound to be conflict, but conflict can be healthy and competitive to figure out the solution, write down both parties ideas and solutions to mitigate conflict, then a solution will exist and if not then redo this process until a solution exists, find a mutual understanding that is preferred method for conflict resolution, and understand others wants and needs of the other person to resolve the conflict.
