Why is this problem important?
LITERATRURE SURVEY
What approaches have been taken to address the problem?
What are the pros and cons of each approach?
APPROACH TO BE TAKEN
What approach are we taking?
Why?
What are the pros and cons of our approach?
What is the cost function being optimized?
What model is being used?
What are the issues?
vehicle design issues
(aero, structural, propulsion….minimizing drag, minimizing weight,
constraining minimum structural flexibility, minimizing energy use)
and
control design issues
(properties at input/output, minimizing coupling,
minimizing control effort, maximizing bandwidth subject to robustness constraints)
ILLUSTRATIVE EXAMPLE
Give the simplest possible example to illustrate our approach and how it compares with other approaches
Here, we seek some simple graphical visualization or a few graphical visualizations
MAIN EXAMPLE
What is main problem being solved?
State the precise mathematical problem that is being used to address the above
Show why this mathematical problem addresses the problem being addressed
MAIN RESULTS
Show a family of results ….to illuminate critical tradeoffs…always have a family of curves….never a single curve….

When is the approach good? When is it sufficient/adequate?
When is the approach not good? When is another approach essential?

When can we obtain a decoupled vehicle?
When is a coupled vehicle essential?
When is a decentralized controller adequate?
When is a centralized (MIMO) controller essential?
How does approach taken address uncertainty?
How does approach taken address control properties at output? input?
If an aero person solved the problem, what type of vehicle would they get?
If a controls problem solved the problem, what type of vehicle would they get?
How does our approach permit us to address the concerns of both campls?
How does the approach taken address each of the above?

HERE ARE SOME GENERAL COMMENTS:
slides should be easy to read…uncluttered!....just a few bullets on each slide….supported by 1-2 figures….
MAIN SLIDES: Contributions of Work (1-2 slides)…these are the hardest slides to develop because they (in principle) should summarize everything concisely in a few bullets!!!!
