Learn how to create, organize, filter, and manage projects and project-level deliverables in Lynx PMIS.ย
The Projects page serves as the centralized directory for all organizational initiatives. It allows project managers and team members to create new projects, establish schedule baselines, allocate project ownership, and build out high-level project tasks.
Project Directory: Search, filter, and group projects by status (Not Started, In Progress, On Hold, Completed).
Project Baseline Management: Set planned start and target completion dates to drive automated S-Curve calculations.
WBS Hierarchy Initialization: Structure project deliverables into primary Tasks and Subtasks.
Team & Stakeholder Assignment: Assign project managers, team leads, and view-only client accounts.
1.Navigating the Projects Directory:
Log into Lynx PMIS.
Click on Projects in the main left navigation bar.
Use the Search Bar or Filter Dropdown at the top of the page to organize projects by status, department, or assigned manager.
Click on any Project Card or Project Name row to view its main overview dashboard.

2.Creating a New Project:
From the main Projects directory, click the + Create Project button in the top-right header.

Project Title: Clear, official name of the project.
Project Code: Unique alphanumeric identifier (e.g., PRJ-2026-001).
Project Owner / PM: Select the designated Project Manager from the user list.
Schedule Baseline: Input the Planned Start Date and Planned End Date.
Budget / Weightage: Input total project contract value or overall weightage.

3.Adding Primary Tasks to a Project:
Open the target project from the Projects directory.
Click on the Tasks tab or navigate to Projects โ Create Project โ Create Task.
Click + Add Task to build Level-1 WBS items.
Define task properties:
Task Title & Description
Assignee: Lead responsible for execution.
Start & Due Dates
Task Weightage (%): Assign the weight percentage of this task relative to the overall project (must total 100% across all project tasks).
Click Save Task.

4.Adding Subtasks (Level-2 WBS):
Open a primary task from the project task list.
Navigate to Projects โ Create Project โ Create Subtask (or click + Add Subtask inside the task detail drawer).
Enter the subtask title, specific assignee, start/end dates, and sub-weightage percentage.
Click Create Subtask.

๐ก Lock Baselines Early: Establish and finalize your project's planned start and end dates before logging actual site progress. Updating baseline dates mid-project alters your S-Curve reference lines.
๐ก Maintain 100% Total Weightage: Verify that all top-level task weightages sum to exactly 100%. Incorrect weightage totals will result in mathematical discrepancies in actual progress reporting.
Q1: Can I archive a completed project without deleting its historical data?
A: Yes. System Admins and Project Managers can edit the project status to Archived or Completed. This removes the project from active daily workspaces while preserving all historical S-Curves, task logs, and chat records for future auditing.
Q2: Who can delete a project from Lynx PMIS?
A: To protect project records from accidental erasure, only users with System Admin privileges can permanently delete a project.
