President/Leader

The leader of Lenstruyna has been Valeri Bostufulrow since 8 March, 2015. Though other provinces are controlled by different leaders, the most important leader is her. Valeri doesn't appear much in the public eye, only if it's necessary, and puts on a talkative and friendly appearance, though she isn't exactly the talkative type. Behind the scenes, her true colors show, and is manipulative and at times violent toward her workers. She has to be stopped on a lot of laws and ideas by other leaders, much to her dismay. Valeris voice is very quiet at most times, unexpectedly due to her violence towards almost everyone she knows.

Vice President

The vice president of Lenstruyna has been Julia Aléemone since 12 May, 2023. She is the sister of Valeri and was the wife of the previous army General, General Przeworski, before he died in 2022. Since then, she's remarried to the Governor of the province Proshny, Ogden Aléemone, and has risen to the ranks. She and Valeri are very close but Julia does wish she was a little nicer and better at having a public appearance.

Military

The civilians in Lycaurica are controlled by a manipulative government and military primarily made up of canines and goatdogs. The government has an advanced type of artificial magic that looks like red crystals, which gets many elements from the other magic types. All higher ranks in the military must use this magic in some way, however, lower ranks can still use their practiced magic types. Additionally, the government doesn't really separate the military and the general government. If you're a soldier, you're just part of the higher government. This is the reason that lots of missing papers include "Let a soldier near you know," as soldiers have to let the government/police know the information citizens have told them. Soldiers are very important to Lycaurica. People often let them know of activities going on and the soldiers will inform the government/police.

Hierarchal Standards

There exists a hierarchy within society, and this hierarchy is very relevant to the military and government. Canines and goatdogs are the main species to be hired as high-status soldiers and government officials, as they are considered especially 'strong.'

When it comes to class:

Canines, goatdogs, bears - High class

Goats, goatcats, felines, horses, gryphons - Upper middle class

Avians, reptiles, water animals, mustelids, large rodents, small rodents - Middle class

Insects, leporids, marsupials, fruitcats - Low class

Alqati, alqati hybrids, quadrupedal animals (beasts) - The very bottom (Low-low class)

History

Technomagic era

The Technomagic era is the modern times, starting at around 1990 to now. It is named this for the breakthroughs in combinations of technology and magic that started around the 90s - which Lenstruyna's government is not an exception of. The government of Lenstruyna is one of the pioneers of these technomagic breakthroughs and utilizes it to this day with its artificial magic crystals. No one is quite sure how these crystals work however, the inventors and those who use them have always been vague about it. It is commonly accepted that the crystals themselves are made of a special kind of glass or metal and the magic lies within the core of it. Most of the technology and electronics of Lenstruyna, but its government especially, is also powered by electric magic and familiars. There have been debates about if this is cruel or not, considering familiars don't actually feel pain but can be in distress. Still, they are one of the main power sources used by the government.

Elrian era & Parade era

The Elrian era is the period of king Elroy Setrevaks reign, which started in 1841 and ended on his death on 7 June 1901. The Parade era refers to 1800-1900. Lenstruyna in the Parade era and the Elrian era are closely connected as Lenstruyna became much more imperial around these times, only really ending in 1918 when Lenstruyna stopped being a monarchy, and this was due in part to Elroy Setrevak leading Lenstruyna to being much more magic focused than before. Magicless animals and magic users actually lived in harmony for the most part until Elroy Setrevak started to banish these magicless people to Ebrya. Setrevak also led to a lot more fear and prejudice surrounding Alqati and Ebrya in general.

The 'iconicness' of the Elrian era specifically is largely tied to the fashion of the era. It had become a lot more flashy, intricate, and bright, especially for royalty and upper-class citizens - perhaps as a way to distract those below from seeing their cruel tyrannical government for what it really was.

Perhaps the biggest most influential part of the Elrian era was the hunting of familiars. The government at this time had created a group, what would now be the police, specifically to hunt and kill any familiars. Beasts, large quadrupedal creatures, were also sometimes apart of this. This was mostly because familiars were the only way those born without magic could get magic, but in the eyes of Elroy Setrevak, they were not "real" magic users and that meant to him that they shouldn't even get the chance to. People were subsequently banned from using familiars and Familiar Hunters became an official government role. Lenstruynas police force today, especially in the province Lycaurica, is modeled very similar to this familiar hunting group.
