Pavvo is Javan’s only established port town, as most of the country is content within its borders. The Righteous presence here is heavy and taxes are imposed on almost everything. The streets are ordered (like Haldoria) and crime is low, though there is a slum/shanty town not far from Pavvo’s wall full of people who have been exiled.
The atmosphere here is one of constant busy-ness. Under the Righteous’ watchful eyes, everyone moves about their day. Trading and boat building seem to be the central hub of the city, with many fine ships under construction that you can see, and the port stretching far off, almost for miles. Further into the city, you come across taverns and established shops, all with beautiful signs and rich colours girding them. You walk past a few gambling rings under the supervision of a Righteous soldier – an elderly gentleman loses and begins to shout, but quickly gathers himself and tips his hat to the Righteous and scurries away. The central avenue of the city here is surrounded by rich, lush parks with fountains and statues, leading up to a grand palace where the Republic sit in session.
Population: Approximately 38000; mostly human but a mix of all races, including goblin and half-giant and even tiefling, though magic is strictly forbidden here.
Import/Export: IMPORTS: fineries from Haldoria, uncut gems, food and wine. EXPORTS: jewels, flowers, timber, luxury carpets to the Empire
Language: Common is the only language recognised here, despite the prolific trading population.
Religion: No official religion is allowed, although several worshippers do gather in small groups. The laws of Javan do not extend to the waters, so many water based religious services take place and the Republic turn a blind eye.
Pavvo is governed by a Mayor (human male Dunast Wraithwind, ex-fighter) under the careful direction of the Republic.
Ardus' Clocks: The workshop of a male human clockmaker named Ardus, who is rumored to be able to fix anything.
The Jester and Candle: A grand commoner's inn, known for fine beers and excellent company.
The Stormspire: A broken obelisk of dark stone, engraved with columns of strange symbols. Each time the spire is struck by lightning, it glows with residual energy before it is harvested by the local Academy.
Lots of green space and flowers here, it is a cultivated beauty.
Monument to the Face of the Republic – a human male figure with the face replaced by the sign of the Republic outside the Palace of the Republic.
