The capital city of Coradruin, insofar as a country with no ruling body can have a capital city. Largest trading port in Coradruin and home to The Forum - most diverse market in the New World.
Population: mix of all races, classes, and half races, usually from a seafaring, trading or nomadic background. Steady population of around 18000, but The Forum usually brings in nearly as much again, turning this into a sprawling, dynamic city.
Import/export: Spices, carpets, luxurious items tend to be the most exported here, while fresh livestock and alcohol are most heavily imported. Known specifically for The Thread Way, end of the trading route for fabrics like silk and satin.
Language: despite the mix of background, race, and class, the working population speak in mostly common, although there is a sub-class of Common known to the live-in traders and merchants known as Duner, allowing them to make under-the-table trade deals in view of the city police.
Religion/s: a wide variety of religions are followed here, but very few celebrations are allowed because of the transitory nature of the population. Any religious celebrations are small, devout, and usually outside of working hours.
Currency: mostly gold coins serve to support the barter-style economy here, although favour and reward does go a long way, especially if you are a skilled craftsperson.
Three Streams boasts the most robust parliamentary system in Coradruin and, although far from perfect, it is looked on as an example by other cities in the country. The Chancellor presides over the public facing side of politics and, in the interest of being as fair and uniform as possible, always looks exactly the same and has no independent name of their own and is known only as The Chancellor. Decisions are made through the Council of Embers: invited members to represent each faction, guild, or organisation that make decisions based on housing, policing, imports/exports, and community based spending.
The Chancellor is a title 'passed down' but no one really knows how the process works except for the Chancellor themselves. They appear to the Council and have veto votes that can help steer politics, but they have always been the same, for all intents and purposes.
Policing works through a system of mutual respect - every resident trader pays a minimal tax to the Council of Embers which ensures clean and tidy streets, protection from thievery, fire, and assault, and basic healthcare provision. Despite this system, there are many that try and abuse it but the Council are usually good at routing those people out and corruption tends to fail because it inconveniences the Council members as well as The Chancellor.
Al-Salai's Ironworks: The workshop of a male human blacksmith named Ri'ad ibn Ni'ma al-Salai, known for his knowledge of dwarven runes and glyphs.
The Cursed Blade: A modest dwarven tavern, kept by a sphinx named Mammyl.
Emberhouse: The Council meeting chamber, forming a central hub to the city and sitting atop the largest body of water on a platform held in place with massive chains.
Umberlee's Whisper: Just outside of the city, a tumultuous waterfall system crashes off a nearby cliff and into the ocean. Many have fallen to their deaths here, and many more say that you can hear the siren song of Umberlee herself singing through the waters to lure people off the edge.
