Semi-ruined templar city in the middle of the desert, Leftrun is the last home of magic in the ruined wastes of Coradruin. Once said to be the seat of divine power in the country, Leftrun is now nothing more than a shell city inhabited by power hungry thief gangs and semi-settlers that have formed an uneasy alliance around the only source of water dug deep into the central temple.
Population: a steady population of about 200 of all races and creeds gather here, spread across the city with their various wares and living situations. There is a permanent camp of dragonborn researchers by the Infinite Pool, the only source of constant water in the area. They pay the Muhadrin over the odds to research there, but deem it worth it because of the archaeological significance of Leftrun's ruins.
Import/Export: Muhadrin scholars is the only export from here, as well as religious ruins that bring in tourism. The Muhadrin import weapons occasionally, but not enough to raise any eyebrows in law enforcement.
Religion/s: Leftrun used to be the seat of religious power in Coradruin, and there are temples everywhere in the city, though most of them are in ruins and very few worship at these places anymore. Some have been desecrated, others abandoned and still fewer are kept looked after.
Language: Mostly Common, with Rosetongue (language of the Assassins) being common amongst the permanent population in their dealings with the Muhadrin.
Leftrun is supervised by the Assassin's Guild (The Muhadrin), whose headquarters are not far outside of the city, apparently, though the location is incredibly secret and not even the accolytes know exactly where it is. There is no one place of power or government within the city, because it is mostly shambolic towns and people squatting in the ruins. However, the Muhadrin keep a close eye on who comes and goes and anyone arriving in the city can expect a welcoming committee to keep them in line.
The Beggar's Cup: An elegant commoner's tavern, kept by a brass dragon named Baalaelu.
Al'dirai Ruins: Once known as the pride and joy of local architects, now cracked and broken but with frescoes that remind you of a time long ago, when this place was reverent.
The Whispering Temple: On the highest outcrop near the city, this temple used to be dedicated to Aldiran (God of Knowledge) and was the place for scholars to begin their pilgrimage of research. The library ha been ransacked a few times, but still remains semi-operational, though the temple itself has been re-consecrated as an inclusive place of worship for most of the Gods.
