Closest settlement to Chalior, Ozryn provides a refuge for halflings that manage to buy out/escape from the dictatorship but is a settlement based on entrenched forced labour. This is the agricultural hub of Javan – the finest vineyards, wheatfields, and livestock on the continent. Heavily guarded by the Righteous, they use halflings as low-paid labourers under the guise of ‘a better life’. Has developed a tentative trading route with Co’ath for spices and luxuries.
You meet Ozryn well before you actually see the city centre – cultivated fields stretching for miles, with the smell of livestock and farming drifting through the lazy, warm air. Clouds on the horizon tell you that the daily storm coming down from the Speckled Crags isn’t too far off. The first sign of civilisation is a busy mill, water wheel clacking and grinding. Spread out are other buildings – mills, taverns, warehouses, silos, tanneries and forges. As you move in the cobbled centre of the marketplace, a company of Righteous enter the opposite side of the square.
