Situated in the north west of Javan in the foothills of the Kivanos mountain range. Mainly a mining city and ore refinery looked over by the Council of Kivanos who (allegedly) care for the passes through the mountain range and provide trade for some of the civilised mountain-folk nearby.
The noise of digging and the smell of refining ore permeates this place. A dense cloud of smoke seems to permanently screen the air and hang in your lungs. Busy with people running to and fro on business, nobody seems to loiter or hang around unless it is outside one of the massive warehouses where you can see smoke belching out. There are a few Righteous around, their plate armour polished to perfection, but the majority of them seem to be absent from the surface level of this city.
Population: Approximately 5700; mostly dwarf, some Halfling, orc, goblin and giant. Human make up the majority of the military arm of the Righteous.
Import/export: IMPORTS: Grain and timber from Chalior EXPORTS: Ore, coal, jewels, weaponry
Language: Only Common is recognised, despite the mix of races here. This is enforced By the Righteous.
Religion/s: Religion is a highly contended topic across the country, preferring instead to focus on human power and technology, but there are a few signifiers of religion around.
Julves is governed by the Council of Kivanos (wealthy aristocrats), though several wealthy merchants are the real power behind the state sanctioned by the Republic.
An ancient spire of polished agate, placed to honor Lord Julves.
A tall statue of polished stone, placed to honor a local hero named Endaveld.
The Shrine of Kord: A stone lantern enshrining the flame of Kord, surrounded by a labyrinth path that the Righteous warn people away from, but ignore if people are seen passing through.
The centre of the city is a massive pit going down to a central chamber that branches off left and right under the mountains.
The Runecarvers Guild Hall: An impressive half-timbered building, said to be built atop the tomb of a necromancer.
Elmus' Blades: A large weaponsmith's workshop, built atop an outcrop of volcanic rock.
The Wicked Knave: A modest dwarven tavern, built within an ancient tower of rune-carved stone.
