Look for reviews of online databases and “test drive” at least two that are appropriate for the Anytown school library for which you have chosen to build a reference collection (See the Reference Resource Collection Assignment for details.) Hopefully you will find that you have access to most of the databases you wish to “test drive” if you look at those available to you through the Lamson Library, the NH State Library and your town’s school and public libraries. In addition, you may wish to sign up for free trials (see the list of links to use to sign up for trials in Moodle). Enter the conclusions from your investigation into the Subscription/Online Databases Google Form provided under Unit 2 in Moodle. In the form, you will be asked to indicate the name of each database, the publisher (or vendor) who supplies each, the grade levels for which each is recommended, the curriculum focus of each, the primary content of each, the ease or difficulty of use, types of searching allowed (keyword, subject....), levels of searching allowed (basic, advanced,...), 3 features you like about each database, features you don’t like about it, and why you plan to add it to your Anytown collection or your reasons for eliminating it.
