Candidates identify and provide support for diverse student information needs. Candidates model multiple strategies for students, other teachers, and administrators to locate, evaluate, and ethically use information for specific purposes. Candidates collaborate with students, other teachers, and administrators to efficiently access, interpret, and communicate information.
It is really important to provide efficient access to quality information as well as instruction on how to ethically use and cite resources. To support a large and diverse student and teacher population I created a website with links to all of the library databases, document with passcodes and printed bookmarks and posters to share within the library and classrooms. In addition, I created screencasts to explain how to use resources and taught, 'source starter' lesson to help students get quality resources early on to support their research.
