I'm going into a first year as LMS at a new school. I've been out of school working as an independent contractor TO schools for the past 5 years so really feeling 'brand new' to the whole process!
Advocacy Plan
Vision:
To provide a collaborative commons where the inquiries of today become the answers for tomorrow.
Mission:
The mission of the library is to support Winnisquam Regional High School’s mission, goals, and objectives as an integral component of the school’s instructional program by providing guidance and resources for all to ethically access information and tools for inquiry, innovation, and collaboration while addressing 21st century skills, including life and career development, learning and innovation and information, media, and technology literacy.
Goal:
The Library will become the Learning Commons and be a space to promote collaboration and a welcoming community space for learning and living! We want our mission to be reflected by a diverse community of self directed learners who can both collaboratively and independently access, collect, analyze information through a variety of resources; analyze & synthesize by constructing newly integrated knowledge in the form of creative expression of understanding.
We will do this with an active outreach and services that build partnerships with students, teachers, parents, community and administration to be actively involved in both supporting and benefiting from the WRHS Library Learning Commons services.

Feedback
Your plan is fantastic! I love reading your perspective in these situations. The only thing I couldn't find is a sample artifact. I want you to create one advocacy tool that you will use during your first year in your library. An infographic? A social media account for your program? a template for an email newsletter?
Your work is outstanding and you are well on your way to creating a wonderful long range strategic plan and a great program for Winnisquam!
