Working with the Health instructor, we develped a plan for researching and reporting on Mental Health disorders. Students respond well to purposeful tasks so assuming the role of a reporter to create a 'newscast' or 'news article' after researching and interviewing was the basis of this project. Students worked collaboratively on their research and could select from a vareity of options on how to best report their findings. As a librarian, I supported the research and resources component and began the lesson with a 'research starter' to help students access both print and online databases and cite sources accurately.
Used a program called ‘Atlas’ to collaborate on lessons with standards. Example of this ~ helping a teacher with STEM course with supporting video. When collaborating with teachers on projects and curriculum topics we also integrated and targeted standards from our state and AASL with the goal to reflect and evaluate for further development in future projects.
