energy science and technology
Basic human needs include clean air, quality food and water, and energy. While most often, their research need is compromised by politics and socio-economical reasons, it is critical that we invest significantly our resources in ensuring these basic needs for everyone in the world. Although there is traction toward renewable energy research, using CMOS technology and electronic applications to strengthen the quest for sustainable resource for clean air, quality food and water and clean energy is non-existent. And that’s why we in collaboration with Red Sea Research Center, Desert Agriculture Center and Water Desalination and Reuse Center have focused on the following research topic with significant advances:
Compliant sensory system for aqua environment and marine species.
Compliant transient sensory system for large area plant monitoring.
CMOS technology enabled and 3D printed microbial fuel cells with enhanced performance for water purification.
Sustainable energy harvesters and bio safe energy storage.
