The hulking Gorr is a member of the Fanged Koposeran family. Although it bears many traits typically found in the horned tribe, it possesses cow-like hooves, wide pupils, and a curly tail similar to that of a pig. For these reasons, Monstrologists still dispute whether this classification is correct, with the verdict still pending. Unlike Horned Koposerans, Gorr has a preference for flesh. A series of sharp canines allows them to rip flesh with ease, supported by a menagerie of molars, aided by strong jaws to crush bone under little duress. There’s virtually nothing a Gorr cannot rip apart to eat, and virtually nothing it won’t eat, as its potent stomach acid and strong constitution rarely allow it to get sick. These attributes make it an ideal scavenger, content to feed on the rotting, the desiccated, and the dead.
To secure food, Gorrs are equipped with a variety of adaptations. Their legs permit them a consistent stride but also the ability to make rapid advances and charge into foes; at these speeds (35 mph), the Gorr is unable to steer itself or slow down - meaning once it commits to a charge, it only ends if it eventually winds down or is stopped by something immediately ahead of it. A thick, muscular neck and shoulders provide a cushion against these impacts that is so substantial that it would take multiple strikes (3+) to cut through it reliably. The force put behind these muscles is equally great, able to toss a grown man over with relative ease.
If all else fails, the Gorr has one final weapon; collecting gases from its digestive system and the corpses of those it eats, the Gorr can expel a heinous plume of toxic gas from four pairs of gas vents along its neck. Once inflated, the vents spew this disgusting toxin outward with an effective range of ten (10) feet. The gas is so toxic that it immediately causes eyes to water and a searing pain along the nose, strong enough to make aiming difficult. The effects last up to five (5) turns unless reapplied. It should be noted that the Gorr gas is highly flammable and will ignite both inside the gas cell and outside of it if struck with ignition, the former of which is a major weakness of the Gorr.

Regularly described as “bullies”, Gorr don’t often hunt for themselves. Aided by a keen sense of smell, they seek out existing remains or actively steal from other predators. When it comes to food, they possess an untold confidence and may challenge virtually anything in terms of its quality. Those who don’t placate them immediately with food are often met with force until either the Gorr or themselves sustain enough injuries to back down. Those attempting to appease a Gorr’s appetite may be sorely mistaken, as once a Gorr ascertains easy access to food, it will keep pushing for more until its impulses become untenable. Many well-meaning travellers have themselves been eaten once they exhaust their other food options.
Although attempts have been made to tame Gorr, none have succeeded. There seems to be an innate selfish desire within Gorr that precludes their ability to be controlled or care for anything beyond themselves. Even between Gorr, who are largely solitary as adults, there’s little compassion; once a Gorr’s piglets have been weaned, the sow almost immediately abandons them to get back to her own food needs. Boar Gorr aren’t above eating their kind either if the piglets aren’t theirs. A horrifically gluttonous beast.
The origin of the Gorr is often disputed among Monstrologists. While they have been a consistent presence for at least the past five centuries, they are notably absent from the fossil record beyond that point. Some have excused this anomaly as nothing more than preservation bias, but others theorised that the Gorr may not be wholly native. The introduction of domestic pigs to the Kelevan continent predates the arrival of Gorr by only a few years, drawing a connection to the species as the result of Keleva’s inherent primordial whims.
