“They say we’re small. I say we just need less space to outsmart you.”
— Goblin
Goblins, or Ebuul-yiiv as they’re known in their tongue, are a small and numerous race, one that has a less-than-respectable reputation among most, oftentimes seen as the simple and inferior distant relative of the Orcs due to their small size and common lack of patience. Yet still, Goblins are their race, with their way of life. Having lived until now, not all goblins are mindless and dull; some make for excellent adventurers due to their innate fondness for treasures, as well as their inherent cleverness. Goblins oftentimes value individuality, relying on only themselves to survive.

Often living underground, within alleys, or other small spaces, Goblins are one of, if not the smallest, race on the continents. A very distant relative of Orcs, they share similar features, Goblins’ skin being a greenish colour, and at times, even a brighter shade of green than would ever be seen on an Orc. Goblins have large, pointed ears, unlike the elves; the ears of Goblins point sideways from their head, allowing them to have a better hearing range than most others. What comes with a race being fostered underground is great agility, with goblins inherently having good balance and being adept at climbing. The hair of the goblin is also taken from their distant relative, mostly dark, with almost black colourations being present. The eyes, however, are quite large, and the colour of them can be yellow, red, or, more commonly, dark colours like brown.
Some say it’s magic, others call it instinct—but the Goblin leaves no trace. No footprints in the dust, no scent easily followed. When one slips through a crowd or disappears down a path, even trained trackers often find themselves at a loss. Whether a result of clever steps or something older and stranger is anyone’s guess.
It wouldn’t be incorrect to say that Goblins are easily provoked, often taking great offence to insults about their height or even simple miswordings. For most Goblins, it’s easy to overcome this short fuse, especially if they are raised near Orcs, using what they learn from them to avoid sabotaging their social standing. Goblins have what almost appears to be a sixth sense for treasure, and this manifests as bouts of kleptomania or as appraisers. Goblins, most times, do not get along with other races due to how they are treated, but when treated fairly, Goblins make quick friends and make for an interesting ally.
