“We are not above others by birth, but by will. Let them call it pride—ours is a purpose proven.”
— High Elf
The High Elves, also known as the Inarii in their language, are born with noble blood and a zeal to excel, being a relatively young race among elves but with a fiery ambition. This ambition and confidence outwardly appear as overbearing pride, perhaps being the very reason elves in totality are labelled as egotistical. It is unknown why they are called High Elves, though many believe it’s a title they have given themselves in the common language of humans so that even they would have something to call them other than simply elf, and so that they are not lumped together with their distant kinsmen. High Elves value elegance and intelligence, with knowledge and tradition greatly treasured. While haughty, the Inarii should not be underestimated; their aptitude to learn has proven paramount in the continuation of their kind and has persisted as such for a reason.

Similar to the rest of their kinsmen, High Elves are pretty tall, on average taller than the typical human. Oftentimes, their pointed ears are longer than those of other races of elves. In addition to their signature ears, sharp, defined facial features make themselves apparent on the visage of the Inarii. The High Elves always appear slim; even the strongest of their kind appear lean rather than large. Their eye colours are especially vibrant, bright hues of a wide array of colours; unique, it seems as if High Elves lack pupils, their irises taking over as a singular, large orb of colour. Their skin colour can be pale white, pale yellow, or a range of different bronze tones. The hair remains similar to human tones, except for an uncommon silvery white hue.
Magic constantly hums the surface of all things, and High Elves have always known how to feel its rhythm. When touching an item, whether a blade or a pebble, a High Elf can often sense if magic lingers within it. This awareness isn’t exact—it won’t name the spell—but it resonates through their fingers as a fleeting warmth.

The most recent form of elf to appear on the continents, High Elves often act as if they have something to prove. Through this, they have quickly refined their culture and way of life, which is credited with making many discoveries in the fields of magic and other scholarly pursuits. How High Elves view and treat the other races varies from one to the other; surprisingly, though, they fit in well with non-elves, despite viewing them as self-absorbed or naive due to their short lifespans. It is with the other elves that they seem to clash, often wanting to prove they are better than the other, or otherwise superior. Their prideful shell could make them seem detached and intimidating, though they are not incapable of cooperating with any race. Typically quite passionate, they take to friendships quickly and will defend those they’ve taken a liking to with fervour.
