“Trust is not given. It is tested, broken, and—if you are lucky—earned again.”
— Drow
The Drow, though appearing similar to their other kinsmen, host a series of differences in both build and mind. Drow, or Draeyii in their tongue, have existed for as long as other Ildae, but, unlike them, have a harsh and storied tale behind them. Born into and fostered with violence, most Drow are unpredictable, leading many to act with caution when around them. With their grey skin and martial prowess, the Drow are an uncommon yet unnerving sight.

In some ways, Drows are a contrast to the other elves, though they still share similarities. With wiry, tall figures, albeit slightly shorter than the other Elven races. However, the colours of their skin range from dark greys and jet blacks to, at times, shades of purple. The hair of the Drow could be stark white, silver, or, at times, pale yellow. The irises of these elves are commonly red, but can also appear as yellow, amber, purple, or black, and their sclerae are black.
Drow, known as Draeyii to themselves, were born in harsh, dark places in their societies, and their eyes have adapted to it. While others struggle to see in the dark, Drow can still see even in total darkness, though as if a soft, dim, pale light lit everything. Where torches fail, Drow can still move, but with less care.

In the psyche, Drow tend to be ruthlessly pragmatic. Raised within a harsh society where one could not afford to show sympathy or compassion openly, these emotions could be taken advantage of. This has led many Drow to be paranoid and judgmental towards others. Though they understand the benefit of relationships with kinsmen and outsiders, it’s not uncommon for Drow to constantly be on guard or even probe for “weaknesses” in their allies. Often, Drow society is held together by societal pressure or fear, yet it still encourages guileful or cunning behaviour. Primarily to get ahead and take power for themselves. Not surprisingly, this harsh society has caused some to drift away from their homeland. Despite this causing a Drow to be seen as lesser by their kin, it can lead to a kinder and more fulfilling life.
