“Open sesame! ... Abracadabra! ... FIREBALL! FIREBALL! FIREBALL!”

Spellcasting, also known as the Elemental Arts, is the most common form of magic found in Legends of the Aether. Spells are magical effects created by people via Spellcasting. Spells are frequently used by mages in all aspects of the world, including combat and daily life.
To gain the ability to cast spells, a person must undergo Attunement, also known as Vitae. This essential process aligns a person's mind with the world, transforming a non-mage into a mage.
Spells require Mana to be cast, each spell requiring its amount. The amount of mana needed to cast each spell is dependent on the caster's level of mastery.
To interact with reality's elements, an individual must undergo an alignment process known as Attunement, or Vitae, which can be done once they've reached the age of sixteen (16). Attunement binds a person to up to two (2) elements at a time (they all have access to Raw Magic, though), allowing them to call upon elemental forces through Spells—magical conjurations that allow the user to cast an elemental attack. All spellcasters have access to Raw Magic. For example, a spellcaster may be bound to Fire and Water, and also be able to use Raw Magic spells.
During Attunement, the environment plays a significant role in its success. While you may still attune anywhere, people often find it easier to attune in locations that resonate with the type of magic they wish to practice—for instance, one seeking to wield fire magic may find the process more natural near volcanic or high-heat regions.
Different levels have been established to identify your magical prowess and the spells' level. All levels have different levels for armour usage and what tier of spells they can cast.
Beginner
An emergent Spellcaster who has freshly attuned to Spellcasting. The baseline for all Spellcasters. Their control is limited, spells are small in scale, and overuse often leads to fatigue or magical misfires. Still, even a beginner spell is more potent than any mundane trick. With their mana pool, they can cast Beginner spells. Spellblades can use plate at maximum for armour. Mages can use chainmail at maximum for armour.

Novice
A developed Spellcaster who has gained a deeper attunement to magical forces. At this stage, they can cast with greater confidence, using a wider variety of more potent elemental effects. With their increased mana pool, they can cast Novice spells. Spellblades can use plate armour at maximum. Mages can use chainmail at maximum for armour.
Free-to-play
Expert
A proficient Spellcaster whose connection to magic is instinctive. More potent, complex spells, or battlefield casting, become second nature. They can manipulate multiple spells from two chosen elements, and know how to counter spells better. Their larger mana pool allows them to cast Intermediate & Expert spells. Spellblades can use chainmail armour at maximum. Mages can use gambeson at maximum for armour.

Master
An ascended Spellcaster whose grasp of magic is near-total. The magic obeys them not as a servant, but as an extension of self. They can only cast Master spells & one Archon spell from the specific element they've specialized in, while casting Expert spells the rest they've attuned to. Spellblades can use chainmail armour at maximum. Mages can use boiled leather at maximum for armour.

There are two classes of Spellcasters: Spellblades & Mages. These different classes are given more spell slots according to the balance.
Spell Slots: a list of spells that Spellcasters know how to cast/use. Depending on what class you are in, you would only have access to that number of spells. (E.g,. A novice Spellblade will only be able to cast Flameburst, Flamesnap, and Smoke novice spells if those are the three spells he chose.)
The amount of spells that you can cast before running out of mana depends on the level of spells, how many times you use them, and for how long before your mana depletes.
Spellblade
By using a bonded weapon that they can only cast through as their sole focus, they can select spells that apply to their class. They have fewer spells, but more armour. The armour specifics are in the progression section.

Spells in LOTA 3 are separated into 5 different elements of magic, which sometimes have groups of mages who specialise in them. These types of magic are recognisable as elements that could also be found in nature.
