This is the last day of the course and eventually, we had the most classes today. On the other days as you could see we had cultural programmes but today we had two morning and one afternoon session at the training centre.
"Mop up" a term I learnt - among others - this week. (Actually, there is a Quizlet set you can study of the new words we collected during the week.) And this day was to mop up, to come back to things we didn't have time for. We had some vocabulary and grammar activities as well as energisers and warm-ups. We worked with songs and we also talked about use of listening tasks.
It was good to hear from native speakers that there is no real difference between must and have to - I have stopped teaching for a while.
I also collected some compliments. Our teacher asked me to handle the Google Drive we used to share files and I could manage. And one classmate said they had been talking among each other with some other classmates that I seemed to be knowledgeable without showing off. Well, I don't think so, but if they they had the impression I'm happy about it.
Yesterday evening we went to a pub after the dinner the school organised for us. It was a small place called Captain's Bar. I don't really know where some pictures on the website were taken because there were small tables with two chairs along the wall, the bar along the opposing wall, and next to it a small u-shaped sofa where the musicians were with a table in the middle. That was all. And, there was, of course, live unplugged music. I recognise Sean Paul Newman and Henry Ibbs from the website but there were two other musicians, a guitarist and a cellist too. I listened to a couple of songs then left but it was really cozy, charming and pleasant. (Some of us stayed even after midnight.)
Today I went up to Arthur's seat with two classmates. It was a climbing experience! (If you come to Scotland you'd better exercise before.) And of course, the view was also breathtaking. (The photos I took are lost.) It is a volcanic rock like the one the Edinburgh Castle is built on.
In the evening we went to a restaurant for a farewell dinner. It was a really good and popular place and the food was delicious.
