Purpose
We celebrate creativity, craftsmanship, and self-expression! Costumes are a big part of our fun.
But above all, we want everyone to feel safe, respected, and welcome.
The following guidelines help ensure that cosplay at our event is fun and responsible.
General Guidelines
Appropriate Coverage (PG-13 Standard)
Costumes must provide full, opaque coverage of private parts. Nudity is not allowed. Bodysuits aiming to simulate nude skin are not permitted.
Very revealing attire (in the judgment of event staff) may be asked to be covered up, modified, or declined at entry.
Shoes or suitable foot coverings are required at all times when in public areas of the convention.
Badges Visible
Your attendee badge must be visible even if it must be integrated into or attached over/through your costume. This helps staff, security, and other attendees identify you.
No Offensive Content
Costumes should not include profanity, hate symbols, derogatory imagery, or content that is racist, misogynistic, or otherwise discriminatory.
Avoid imagery or themes that could be deeply offensive, triggering, or express extremist or violent ideologies.
Props & Weapons
All props or cosplay weapons (even replicas) must be in compliance with our Props Policy and local laws.
Real weapons, functional replicas, firearms, or other dangerous items are not allowed.
Props that could be construed as weapons must be peace-bonded (or tagged/inspected) by security staff at designated prop check stations.
Props must be safe in materials, size, sharpness, and should not impede movement or pose hazards in crowds or through doorways.
Large, Bulky, or Vision-Obstructing Costumes
If your costume has large wings, extended pieces, tall or wide components, or obstructs your vision, you may be required to have a “handler” to assist you in navigating hallways, stairs, or crowded areas.
These parts should not block egress, emergency signage or exits, or impede traffic flow.
Safety / Special Effects
No live pyrotechnics, open flames, smoke machines, or anything that expels liquid, gases, or other materials in public areas unless approved by venue and con staff.
Costumes should not include materials that are overly flammable or that shed dangerous particles/objects.
Props that could cause physical injury (sharp edges, heavy items) should be either modified or used cautiously.
Behavior & Respect
Cosplay is fun, but does not equal “cosplay consent.” Do not touch, photograph, or interact with cosplayers in ways they have not explicitly agreed to.
Respect personal space, ask before taking photos, and be courteous.
Right of Refusal / Enforcement
We reserve the right to refuse entry or ask someone to adjust/change costume or props if they violate these rules or are deemed unsafe or inappropriate.
Staff decisions are final. Repeated violations may result in removal from the event without refund.
