Mizzuz Achree has been in the convention scene since 2009 and has been making her own cosplays since 2019. She has cosplayed over 20 different characters in her 15 years. She is from the New Orleans area and has attended all major cons in Louisiana, almost all of the smaller cons, and has attended MegaCon Orlando.
She is still a novice in sewing but advanced in her jewelry making and prop work. She has been a Cosplay Guest at Retro Con’s Louisiana Retro Exchange (Saturday, July 27 2024), Anime Town Louisiana (August 3 and 4, 2024), and Louisiana Retro Con (September 28 and 29, 2024). She will be a guest at PeliCon in January 2026.
She has won the following cosplay awards: Anime Town Louisiana 2023- Best Novice and AnimeConclave NOLA 2024- 3rd Place. She has run numerous panels at local conventions that span anime, gaming, and starting your own anime club.
On the personal-professional side, she is an Instructor at Southeastern Louisiana University and teaches Freshman and Sophomore English.
She has been a teacher for ten years: teaching elementary, middle, and high school courses such as Inclusion Math, Inclusion English, Middle School English, Speech, English I, English II, Biology, P.E., Resource English, and served as a professor teaching dual enrollment at various high schools in Southeastern Louisiana.
Currently, she is the advisor for SELU’s Anime Club and helps with Sigma Tau Delta, the English Honor Society. She loves teaching newcomers different techniques and tricks to getting started in cosplay.
