You might be wondering, “Why that name?”
It’s simple, because we are just another convention. And we’re proud of that.
We don’t rely on flashy gimmicks or grand claims.
Instead, we focus on what truly matters: bringing people together through shared interests, creativity, and fun.
Our name reflects our honest, down-to-earth approach to fandom. We’re not trying to outshine other events, we’re here to be a welcoming, reliable space for fans of all kinds.
What makes us unique is exactly that: the comfort and authenticity we provide to attendees looking for a con that feels like home.
Just Another Con (JACon) was founded in 2025 by a sibling duo, Nicolas Carmona and Carolina Carmona; longtime con-goers, cosplayers, and prop makers who saw the need for a safe and welcoming local convention in Louisiana. Rather than waiting for it to happen, they rolled up their sleeves and brought their vision to life.
We also take pride in supporting local vendors and small businesses, providing a platform for artists, crafters, and creators to showcase and sell their work. At JACon, you’re not just attending a convention, you’re joining a passionate community built by fans, for fans.
So whether you're here to meet your favorite guests, compete in cosplay contests, shop for unique finds, or simply geek out with friends, welcome to JACon, where everyone is a fan of something!
To create a safe and welcoming environment by fans, for fans, where fandom enthusiasts can gather, interact, and engage in the activities they love, while also supporting local vendors and artists.
