We Are the Light of this World as Disciples
14 “You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.

Matthew 28:16-20
16 Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go.17 When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. 18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Our very purpose in life maybe to be an apostle for Jesus...Our purpose maybe to plant His seeds, so that others may see the Light...His Light is not to be hidden under a bowl or under anything...His Light is to be seen, and His Words are to be heard...Man needs Light to see...Without Light, the darkness and life is well just darkness, complete darkness...For us to live without Light, we would be living in a pitch black type darkness...So God created Light...
A Saint over six hundred years ago, wrote about this Light and wanted and tried to get His Word out...St. Catherine of Siena wrote about Jesus...She said He is the "Way" or "Bridge" to God..."The Way has been made...It is the doctrine of Christ crucified...Whoever walks along this Way...reaches the most Perfect Light."...She spread His word in the mid to late 1300's...She tried to make disciples of many, if not all, that she met...
Jesus is the Way and the Light of Life...He even says He is the Light of this world...Jesus is the Way, the Truth, the Life, and the Light of this world...
God created Light and sent the Light to us...He separated the Light from darkness...In Jesus, we have the life and Light of all mankind...Jesus teaches us that He is the Light of this world...Whoever follows Him and His word will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life...His word is a lamp for out feet, and a Light for our path in life...His word gives Light, and it gives understanding to the simple...The words He spoke will never pass away...
St. Catherine is right Jesus is the most Perfect Light...He is our Bridge and our Way to God...Without the Light we would be lost in all the darkness...He is the Perfect Way...He is our Perfect Light...
