Psalm 119:49-50
God Promises Us Hope
49 Remember your word to your servant,
for you have given me hope.
50 My comfort in my suffering is this:
Your promise preserves my life.
John 1:29
Jesus Takes Away the Sins of this World
29 The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!”...
God's Word is Truth...The Psalmist writes to remember God's Word to your servant, for You have given me hope...My comfort in my suffering is this: Your promise preserves my life....Can we find purpose and meaning in suffering?...Can we find hope in suffering?...Doesn't the cross give life both hope and meaning?...So one can see why the Psalmist believes there is comfort in his suffering and God's Word brings him hope...
As one thinks about these things and then thinks of the cross and its great meaning and of Jesus taking on the sins of the world, it maybe that the greatest and best things in life are the ones that cause us much sacrifice and suffering...The things that cause us the most tears and the things we care the most about are where those tears are coming from...Those tears we have are for those we love the most and the things that are most important to us...These particular life's experiences are intense, and often very difficult, if not our most difficult...The hardest of our life's experiences may cause us to seek Something more than ourselves or Someone Greater than ourselves...
Spiritual transcendent experiences lead us to God and His Son...God and His Son are behind these Spiritual experiences...One must believe in these different Spiritual experiences if they believe in the Cross, in Jesus, and in God...There is hope on the cross...
