Isaiah 46:3-4
God Sustains Us
3 “Listen to me, you descendants of Jacob,
all the remnant of the people of Israel,
you whom I have upheld since your birth,
and have carried since you were born.
4
Even to your old age and gray hairs
I am he, I am he who will sustain you.
I have made you and I will carry you;
I will sustain you and I will rescue you.
John 1:14
Jesus is Full of Grace and Truth
14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
John 10:9-10
Jesus Came to Give Us a Full Life
9 I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. He will come in and go out, and find pasture. 10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
John 14:6
No One Gets to the Father Except Through Me
6 Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
Luke 10:25-28
The Way to Eternal Life
25 On one occasion an expert in the law stood up to test Jesus. “Teacher,” he asked, “what must I do to inherit eternal life?”
26 “What is written in the Law?” he replied. “How do you read it?”
27 He answered, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’”
28 “You have answered correctly,” Jesus replied. “Do this and you will live.”
Revelation 21:3-4
There Will Be No More Tears, No More Death in Heaven
3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. 4 ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
God sustains us until it is our time...Then He has us leave earth, and go to Him...
When Jesus came to earth and He was and still is full of grace and Truth...So it is wise (for His followers) as we age to seek His Truth, and grow old gracefully...I have also read, more than once, where someone who has lived a long life (where) people equate the number of years lived to having a full life...Sometimes that is true, but that is not always true...A full life can happen without living in your nineties or on hundreds (years of age)...And it is possible that one who has lived a very long life on earth has had their share of troubles and trials, while someone younger has lived abundantly...Jesus lived only in His early thirties...And Jesus did not say that the way to get to heaven was to live a certain number of years and a long life...Jesus is the One, the Only One who can give us an abundant life...He came to earth so we could see Him and later read about Him in the four gospels and bring us this full life...
Jesus was ask once by an expert in the law, about how one gets eternal life...He answered it this way...And He points us to the Bible...Jesus answered the question by asking "what is written in the law?"..."How have you read it."...Jesus is telling us that the Law of Moses, the Bible Scriptures, are an important key to an eternal life...He then tells us, If we love God with of our hearts and with all of our souls and with all our strength and with all our mind’; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’...He will give us eternal life...So Jesus gives us not only a full life, but He gives us eternal life...
Dying and passing away, at any age, gets us to this gate and the Kingdom of God...Dying is the door to heaven...Jesus is at this gate, and this door...He and His Father will be looking in our hearts to see what is in there...Is Jesus in your heart?...Is His Father in your heart?...Jesus will be there at the door letting those who Love God and have loved their neighbors and looking at our hearts...He will see that Love in our hearts -those with that Love will enter into His Kingdom...Heaven will be something we cannot even imagine, but His Kingdom will include a full and eternal life -because He and His Father are there...
