John 14:1-4
Our Master's House
1 “Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. 2 In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. 4 You know the way to the place where I am going.

Jesus Prepares the Way
33 “My children, I will be with you only a little longer. You will look for me, and just as I told the Jews, so I tell you now: Where I am going, you cannot come.
34 “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. 35 By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”
36 Simon Peter said to him, “Lord, where are you going?” Jesus answered him, “Where I am going you cannot follow me now, but you will follow afterward.”

Doing God's Will
20 Praise the LORD, you his angels,
you mighty ones who do his bidding,
who obey his word.
Jesus teaches us that God's home, His Father's home has many rooms...If His Father's home was not large and have much space, Jesus would tell us so...Jesus has left the earth physically and now has went to His Father's house and there He is abiding with His disciples...
While Jesus was on earth with the Twelve, they had problems and troubles...But His disciples knew that they were safe with Him...There was something about Him, some charisma, some authority, something Divine about Him...Jesus is telling them that I can only be with you a short time longer, and then I must go back to the One who sent Me...My time is now close to being done...I know you are disturbed and troubled now (and will be until after My death)...But after My resurrection, you will be comforted and understand more about My Father's house...Right now, where I AM going you cannot come, yet...The disciples, after Simon Peter asks, are promised that they will get to follow Him later...For the next several years, you have a Great Commission to do...
Jesus has prepared for us a place...Jesus promises us an eternal, safe, and secure place...He also promises that it is huge...He also wants us to love one another, and make disciples of others...He wants His rooms filled with believers...He wants His house to be full...
In the LORD's prayer that He teaches us to not only to follow God's will when we get to heaven, but He wants us to do His Father's will on earth also...He wants us to start doing His will on earth, as it is being done in heaven...He wants His house full of love...We should praise the LORD, like His angels do...The mighty ones do His bidding, and follow His will, and obey His Word...They are in His house, the Kingdom of God...
