14/05/2024 Photoshop silhouetting work EEP
Created a silhouette based around the colour red since its the main theme for Dexter. I did this by using the object selection tool to select the main character in focus then used the background eraser to delete the unwanted background. The colour is also highly linked to psychology with relations to anger and pain which the main character is associated with, which is why i used this silhouette colour for the main features of the shadow. I also blended together colours to highlight features such as his head and the knife.
I added a range of colours to the knife and blended together with each layer and added a longer dark blend to the centre of the knife. I also blended the arm and neck colours with the body's black.
I then used the eraser to delete extra parts on the outside such as image pixels that were not removed from the initial background erase.
For this scene, I used the object selection tool and selected the main character then inversed to select the background, I then used the background eraser tool to remove the background without erasing the main aspect that I wanted.
I then created a black silhouette for the main clothes which will be the main foundation of the silhouette.
I made a transition between the neck and the head with different shades with brick red for the main head.
I blended the layers together using the blend brush tool, using the layer below as the main colour to blend with the layer above it (for example black onto burgundy red).
I then used the eraser tool to remove extra parts from the background and make the hair more life like.
Afterwards, I created a plain brown background as a final foundation for the silhouette.
