Showcase of the wasteland map made by Jake Seward (NOT MY OWN WORK)
Jake Seward made the level on a separate college computer using Unreal Engine 5 whilst I was working on the main game's mechanics. Once he made the level and imported a tree model from Luke Lawton and a rock + pier model from online (not our work), he imported the map and it's props into Ghoul Gauntlet
He also followed this tutorial to create a water texture for the bottom of the level to make the environment more immersive.
Jake Seward imported this rock prop from online and placed it around the edges of the map. This way, the player cannot see the border of the map and therefore promoted immersion into the level.
Jake S also imported this pier model into the level. Since the AIs had trouble traversing the level, I added an extra pier to allow them to have more paths to run around the map. I also rotated the pier to allow AI and player to travel on them easier.
Jake also imported Luke's tree model into the level.
The water on it's own was too transparent so I duplicated the layer to make it darker on the surface, with the top layer having no collision and the bottom one having it to make it seem like the player is walking through the water.
Final overlook of the level.
