It was built in 1872 by John Samuel White of Cowes.
'Cavaire' was built for F R Woodroffe by Clare Lallow in 1955.
In 1955, the first 6 SCODs were built at Lallows, and the owners drew lots for their boat numbers. Although Cavaire was allocated Number 6, she was the first SCOD registered.
