Mentor: Laura Stockert, Sindbad (mentoring program)
Description: Sindbad Social Business is a mentoring program, which supports socially and economically disadvantaged youth in their future educational planning. Sindbad was founded in 2016 and now includes 1500 mentoring teams at five locations across Austria. The mentoring program seeks to expand and implement the Sindbad business model in an international context.
In addition to researching potential marketplaces, this Virtual Global Experience also includes reviewing and translating the entire Sindbad concept in the form of documents, presentations, and reports into English. During the project, students will be involved in the first steps of an expansion idea and work closely with the management. The students will get an insight into the social and entrepreneurial part of a social business.
The project seeks to answer these questions:
In which countries can the existing Sindbad model be of interest and what is the educational landscape like in these countries?
Which successful social business & mentoring programs are there worldwide?
How can a Sindbad pitch be prepared in English?
The work includes weekly meetings with the mentors, the translation and preparation of documents, presentations, pitches and reports for the company.
