Human Rights

by Alexandra Draganoglou

The conquer of human rights was achieved through long and often blood soaked fights and now symbolize precious achievements of people in this long course of humanity. In December 10th 1948 the signing of the international declaration of human rights set, for the first time, the fundamental rights and freedoms of every individual.

Nowadays, however, 72 years later, the respect of human rights and fundamental freedoms has not evolved into the necessary degree and the road to that goal is still long. Daily, thousands of refugees lose their lives in the sea, in the quest of a better tomorrow, homosexual individuals are killed in the countries of Africa, people are tortured and turned into slaves, dozens of underage children are working under terrible conditions and last but not least, women are still undergoing «female circumcision».

For this reason, our team has prepared an extra volume exclusively focused on Human Rights. In order to realize what is happening around us, take into consideration the severity of the situation and encourage others, as well, to get involved in this heated issue. Our cooperation with schools from abroad has further helped this cause.
