Do and Don’t for Formatter / Engine Controller Board Replacement

DOs

1. Cold reset, Partial clean, Format disk & Erase unlock

• Upgrade or downgrade firmware.

2. Recommendation parts that can be swapped for testing:

- Fuser, Rollers, Adf, Transfer belt, pickup assy, TCU, Control Panel and cable.

3. A NEW replacement of PCA board (DCC / ECU or Formatter) need to be install one by one.

4. Verify printer identity & update correctly. (SN, Product name and Product number)

5. Verify and configure network information correctly. (Hostname, IP, Subnet mask, Gateway and DNS)

DON'Ts

1. Do not swap any PCA board between printers. (Formatter / DC board / ECU / TPM / Island of data

2. Do not install used parts (HDD / EMMC / SSD) when perform troubleshooting.

• In condition perform format and erase unlock before use the parts.

3. Do not replace multiple parts at once go (will lose key identity information): -

• Serial number, model number, product values, product features.

• There is no way to recover this information. Product will need to be replaced.
