The medium within and without media is water

According to  Relaxation Therapy,

The various ways in which water can be used as a powerful tool in the promotion and practice of art of relaxation will be discussed through the varying types of water.

By alternating quite hot and cold water on the body, we stimulate circulation of the blood, which in turn affects breathing, making it deeper to release static energy from the nervous system. This creates a very clean and calm effect. For people who wake up sluggishly or who find it very difficult to go off to sleep, alternating temperatures three times, Évery two minutes is suggested.

This action of treatment is called stimulation -release- relaxation.

Sea Water:

The sea water e.g ocean has various outstanding qualities; one is its perpetual wavy motion which is propelled by a combination of magnetic relationship of the water cycle and solar system e.g rotating earth and moon as well as winds blowing across the earth’s surface. The hypnotic sound and sight of waves rolling onto a shore reach deeply into a rhythmic sense of awareness, enabling holiday makers to let go of peripheral worries and be lulled by this superb phenomenon. The smell of the sea air fills holiday makers with renewed vigour and vitality, with powerful negative ions cleaning the air in the lungs of holiday makers, which in turn relaxes and deepens their breathing.

The ocean is known for its salt content e.g the dead sea has a high salt content that holiday makers can float on it. Many people bathe there who have physical difficulties and the saltwater draws out impurities and reduces pain. All seawater has the effect of cleansing through the skin and swimming in any ocean promotes reduction of physical tension.

Mineral Waters:

Mineral waters have very concentrated mixtures of the earth’s vital elements. Bathing in mineral waters should be done with great care as its penetrating qualities can affect the internal balance of our body radically. For the relief of tension and certain other physical imbalances, mineral waters are very effective. But it is important to rest well after treating ourselves. Our body will need time to absorb and readadjust itself.

Mineral water often comes out of the earth quite hot, which magnifies its elements and also promotes opening of the pores of the skin, thus intensifying treatment altogether.

Fresh Waters:

Fresh waters are usually very cold as they tend to move quite fast. The effects of bathing in a stream or river depends very much on its freshness. Though cold water stimulates us initially, its final effect is actually one of relaxation. Cold water baths monitored for a certain length of time, cause the body’s barometer to regulate itself by heating up the internal energy system and calming the nerves.

Why Water is a Medium

• Universal Solvent: Water's polarity allows complex chemical reactions and metabolic processes to occur.

• Physical Transmission: It acts as a medium for transmitting sound waves, pressure, and thermal energy.

• Biological Foundation: In biology and microbiology, water is the base solvent used to create liquid or solid culture media for growing microorganisms.

Roles of Water as a Medium

• Microbiology and Culture Media: Water is the fundamental liquid base in microbial culture media like nutrient broths and agar plates, where nutrients dissolve to support microbial growth.

Water is;

1. Media and Ecology Theory

In media studies, scholars often look at natural elements as foundational communication channels.

• The Concept: Water is the ultimate original medium. It carries life, physical goods, and historical data across the globe.

• The Connection: Just as digital networks connect us today, oceans and rivers have historically acted as the hardware that connects civilizations.

2. Biological Communication

From a scientific perspective, water is the literal medium for all cellular communication.

• The Concept: Chemical signals, hormones, and electrical impulses rely on water to travel through living organisms.

• The Connection: Without water as a fluid medium, biological "messages" could not be sent or received.

3. Artistic Techniques

In visual arts, water is the vehicle used to manipulate and transport physical media.

• The Concept: In watercolor, acrylic painting, or marbling (Suminagashi), water acts as the solvent.

• The Connection: The behavior of the water directly determines how the pigment moves, binds, and ultimately communicates the artist's vision.

Genesis 1:1–2 in the Good News Translation reads:

1 In the beginning, when God created the universe,

2 the earth was formless and desolate. The raging ocean that covered everything was engulfed in total darkness, and the Spirit of God was moving over the water.

Genesis 1:1-2 reads: "1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters," as recorded on Bible Gateway.

Key Elements

• The Creator: God is introduced as the absolute beginning and maker of all things.

• Initial State: The earth began as formless, empty, and covered in darkness and water.

• Divine Presence: The Spirit of God moved actively over the waters before shaping creation.

Genesis 1:1-2 marks the opening of the Hebrew Bible and the Christian Old Testament, establishing God as the sole creator of the universe out of absolute nothingness (ex nihilo).

Major Interpretations of "Water and Spirit"

• Physical and Spiritual Birth: Many Christians view "born of water" as natural physical birth (amniotic fluid) and "born of the Spirit" as the subsequent spiritual rebirth.

• Cleansing and Regeneration: Others link "water" to spiritual purification or the Old Testament imagery of cleansing (such as Ezekiel 36:25–27) combined with the renewing work of the Holy Spirit.

Amniotic fluid is the protective, clear-to-yellowish liquid surrounding a fetus inside the amniotic sac, composed of water, fetal urine, and nutrients. It cushions against impact, enables movement for bone and muscle growth, and supports lung and digestive development.

Functions and Composition

• Cushioning: Protects the baby from outside bumps and prevents umbilical cord compression.

• Development: Allows the baby to swallow and breathe the fluid, helping the lungs, kidneys, and digestive tract mature.

• Temperature: Keeps a stable, warm environment in the womb.

• Composition: Starts as maternal water, then transitions mostly to fetal urine mixed with hormones, antibodies, and nutrients after 20 weeks.
