Welcome to the new Green Mountain Book Award website.
Here you'll find this year's nominees with links to book details, teaching resources, and related STEAM activities.
The purpose of the Green Mountain Book Award program is to encourage Vermont's young adults in grades 9-12 to become enthusiastic and discriminating readers.
The committee's goal is to offer a diverse annual list of books of good literary quality that:
engage high school students,
reflects the interests of high school students,
represents a variety of genres, formats, and viewpoints,
and to make that list available to young adults through both school and public libraries.
Voting is open for the 2025-2026 GMBA list!

The 2026-2027 list is so good that there's already beef about who should win!
Don't get too excited yet. We're voting on this year's nominees now, but read ALL of the books and come back in 2027 to let the authors know who SHOULD win!
As you can see, this is a work in progress, and any help of resources or classroom ideas you can give us would be greatly appreciated!
If you have additional 2025-2026 Green Mountain Book Award content that we could share with other Vermont librarians, please share it with the VSLA listserv or LibYouth Services listservs, and we will ensure it is shared on this site as well.
This site and the content on it are created and curated by the Green Mountain Book Award committee.
